GRAMM COLLECTION FROM S-INC, H.NAOTO. ROCOCO GOTH RETRO COUTURE, FADED ASYMMETRICAL LACE PASTEL GARMENTS AT MARUIONE, ロリータ・ファッション.
The MaruiOne summer sale is still on. Today, I got a short Marble jacket with ridiculous poofy sleeves, straight out of Interview with the Vampire. Marked down from $130 to $100 – not bad!
I’m intrigued by Gramm, a new brand from S-inc (the company that produces h.NAOTO) found on the sixth floor. It reminds me of a passage from Graham Greene’s Ministry of Fear… the protagonist visits a church fair, and there are trunks of antique clothing for sale – faded, moth-eaten and lace-laden garments from the 1800s.
Gramm reproduces the “grandma’s attic” look with a nod to Japanese Lolita. I love the metal buttons, the deconstructed and trailing pieces…
This pink and white high-waisted Gramm skirt is currently 50% off at Marui! (I think it retails for around $130.) You can see more of this new brand on the S-inc website.
I’ve been picking up kawaii knick-knacks… ridiculous Swimmer pens with giant cute heads, Doraemon band-aids, nail stick-on art. San-X’s brown bear Rilakkuma is one of my favorite characters… how about you? (You can find Rilakkuma goodies like the ones above on J-List.)

CHRISTON CAFE SHINJUKU RENEWAL PARTY: GOTH WEDDING DRESSES, NEW JESUS THEME RESTAURANT IN TOKYO, JAPAN.
Christon Cafe, the infamous Jesus-themed restaurant where Tokyo Decadance often spreads its wings (remember this Halloween post?), took some time off for plastic surgery. Last Thursday, Christon removed its bandages and let in the Japanese Goths.
I sent in my roving reporters to give you the full scoop. In this video, Dravarious the Daring and Lionheart the Lovely investigate Tokyo’s latest and darkest Masquerade… the Christon Cafe Renewal Party. Sadly (and amusingly), the duo has some difficulties along the way!
The new Christon is immense – we’re headed there for dinner soon, so I’ll be posting photos! That night, there was a procession of beautiful Japanese Gothic bride dresses. (Photos by Michelle.)
Much better than the typical white, A-line wedding gown, don’t you think?
My dream wedding would either take place at Christon Shinjuku (with Japanese Goths stuffed into the pews) or at Puroland (officiated by Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel)! Instead of a wedding singer, we’d have Selia’s operatic “oh-ha-ha-haaaa-haaaa”…
Want to see more of Christon Cafe Shinjuku and Shibuya? There are many full-color photos in my Theme Restaurant book… thanks to everyone who already pre-ordered it!
Song of the Day #148: Disco Hallelujah Carmina, or whatever the track is in the roving reporter video.
