TOKYO GOTH INDUSTRIAL PARTY: CEVIN KEY OF SKINNY PUPPY, ANTI-FEMINISM, PSYDOLL, MISTRESS MAYA, LUKE OF CHAOS ROYALE.
Hours after I landed in Tokyo, I was outfitted in Moi-meme-Moitie and ready to party all night with Yukiro, G-suS and other Shinjuku spooky-types.
Here’s Yukiro doing what he does best… torturing boys.
Before hitting our final destination — Mistress Maya’s Goth event, Overfused — we got cans of “konbini alcohol” from the aptly-named Family Mart.
Inside, it was a grand Gothic reunion with Michael and Kana. Isn’t her figure to die for?
Outside Club Marz, we ran into Visual Kei band Anti Feminism. They had just finished performing in Shibuya and were on the way to Star Cafe, a favorite hangout spot for Visual Kei rockers. Guitarist Shogo was hopping around and throwing gang-like hand signals in an after-show buzz!
Also getting some fresh air outside: Lothia and industrial/cyber band Psydoll, who are performing at Tokyo’s Design Festa on May 16. How many G-suSes can you spot in these photos?
The night’s headliner was CEvin Key of Skinny Puppy, who played a long DJ set. He congregated backstage with Maya, me, Nekoi (Psydoll vocals and keyboards) and Yukiro.
Kousuke set up a photobooth; I love his high-contrast, high-saturation photos. The one on the left is a tad scandalous!
In addition to DJ-ing and organizing Overfused, Mistress Maya (left) set up a food table and made a delicious, spicy green curry. Luke of Chaos Royale (right) ended the night with a racy performance featuring two girls and “extreme noise for pole dancers.”
What a pleasure to see most of my Tokyo Addams Family again. We’ll be at Maya’s party, Midnight Mess, at Shinjuku Club Marz on May 15th — come revel with us! (Maps, RSVP info and more here.)
Wouldn’t you like to come to one of Maya’s Goth parties? Are you a fan of Skinny Puppy, Anti Feminism (the band, not the concept) and/or convenience store alcohol?
Japanese Word of the Day: Shibari = Japanese rope tying / bondage (a common sight at these parties).
Song of the Day: Oomph – Augen Auf (Suggested by reader Memo.)

CYBER BOY MODEL YUKIRO. BRIGHT BLUE ANIME WIG, NEON CYBER CLUB GENDER-BENDING CLOTHING.
Part three of our alternative photoshoot with Apollo Staar! In a blue wig, Yukiro looks like an anime doll.
He calls this look: “Retro Visual Kei boy from the 90s.”
“The studio was in a sweet location, centred in the Hollywood area. The velvet curtains made a nice background, and we had a good working spirit (Apollo streamed classic Goth tracks from Pandora Radio). It was nice to try out some new poses and expressions.”
The blue comfy chair is a nice match with Yukiro’s hair and makeup.
He calls his second look: “Misleading questionmark lady.” Ha!
There are so many excellent photos from this shoot, it’s hard to narrow them down to a few! Find out more about photographer Apollo Staar on his website.
Would you dare to wear a cyber space alien outfit like this? If you have questions/comments for Yukiro, do leave a comment on this post! You can post as “Guest” (no need to register).
We were at Kaya’s concert yesterday; he was performing with his band Kaleidoscope. Surprise: Kaya dressed manly! He wore Elegant Gothic Aristocrat: white long pointy collar, black ‘suit’, brown spiky hair. Looked great and sounded amazing. Yes, there are photos and VIDEOS to come… stay tuned to my Twitter for more daily updates from Japan.
