JAPANESE MENS & WOMENS PUNK CLOTHING, SEXY DYNAMITE LONDON & STIGMATA. OSAKA GOTH LOLITA SHOPPING.
Sadness… Sexy Dynamite London, the Harajuku punk brand, is forever gone. I’m glad I was able to say farewell by taking photos at the boutique in Shinsaibashi, Osaka.
In its final days, Sexy Dynamite London (SDL) featured a Hide collaboration. As my friend put it, X Japan guitarist “Hide Matsumoto was the ‘Kurt Cobain’ of Japan, and his influence is still clear in almost all facets of industrial/metal in Japan.”
But his legacy lives on… Hide has given us a plethora of bands via collaboration, including Spread Beaver, Zilch, Oblivion Dust, and Zeppet Store.
Stigmata, the Goth bondage brand that Kenzo-A created and sold to SDL, is also gone. However, Kenzo-A is undead and well — his current brand, Rituals, is doing well. (Did you see my coverage of the Rituals fashion show with pole dancers?)
The brand carried on the spirit of Sid and Nancy: leopard prints and ripped-up tees.
What do you think of Sexy Dynamite London’s final collection?
Let’s remember the brand through my old store photos… You can peek inside SDL Tokyo and other punk Goth shops in my Japan shopping guide.
Is punk dead? Will Harajuku fashion brands will continue to scale back or close down?

SATAN FINAL LIVE IN TOKYO: VISUAL KEI BAND’S VIDEO MESSAGE TO FANS. HALLOWEEN EVENTS, CONCERTS IN JAPAN.
Beware, my dark ones… I’ve uploaded a Satanic new Visual Kei video! La Carmina and friends bring you a concert review and exclusive footage from the final SaTaN concert, held on Halloween in Tokyo.
La Carmina and Yukiro’s “virgin victim,” Sebastiano Serafini セバスティアーノ セラフィニー , broke out of his chains and ran away. However, the evil duo ropes in other unsuspecting concertgoers, including a Japanese punk boy, kawaii Lolita girls and… DK, the drummer of SaTaN, who delivers a message to his fans!
Sadness: this was Satan’s final show with the original four members. Shiya and DK are leaving the horror Visual Kei group for nightmarish new projects. Mr. Satan and leader Hi-na will soon find replacements and continue with the band. In our exclusive video, you can see clips from their very last FINAL performance together.
Ready to Trick-or-Treat? Watch the SaTaN live footage above and on YouTube.
In the previous SaTaN concert video we made, the band wore bloody Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland costumes. Some of their fans cosplayed them.
As I say in the video, the performance was a nightmare in a good and bad way. Thumbs up to the half-naked outfits, high energy and candy-throwing…
Thumbs down to the water-spitting and repetitive metal music. SaTaN played on and on… three encores, three riffs, three hours.
SaTaN a horror-show and we’re happy we got to spend Halloween with them. Please watch our video to see what DK, the drummer, has to say to you!
If you missed our Candy Spooky Theater video report (from the same night), you can see it here.
Are you a SaTaN worshiper? What were your favorite parts in the video?
