LUISAVIAROMA: MODELING LUXURY DESIGNER COUTURE IN FLORENCE, ITALY. BURBERRY COAT, DIOR EVENING DRESS.
As winter descends, my thoughts hearken back to warmer days… memories of Florence, Italy. Seba and I were two of a handful of bloggers flown to Luisaviaroma Firenze4Ever, to model haute couture and take part in events. Here are photos from the second day, by Kristina Gi.
For the Styling Lab, Luisa let us choose any designer clothes we pleased, and model them in the streets of Florence. We were well-equipped with food, hair stylists and makeup artists. I did my own face Japanese-style, with gems and false eyelashes.
Funny story: the Italian makeup artists gathered around to examine my cosmetics and learn my techniques!
The clothing store had an “animalier” theme at the time. We decided to dress accordingly.
Don’t tell my Scottish Fold cat I was petting a deer, and a Great Pyrenees…
Sebastiano Serafini wears a Givenchy t-shirt, and Ma Ry Ya jacket. His trousers and shoes are by Rick Owens.
La Carmina wears a leopard-print dress by 2(4)1 (dig the black circle side-pockets). The shoes are Rene Caovilla, and the bracelet is Delfina Delettrez.
Posing with classic Florentine architecture. Life is a wonder.
On the famous bridge, Ponte Vecchio. My coat is by Burberry Prorsum. (As you can see, we choose outfits that stayed true to our Goth-alt-street style.)
Shirt: Tom Rebl. Jacket and trousers: Dior Himme. Shoes: Bruno Bordese. Hat: Rick Owens.
The fit and materials of my Dior evening dress were outstanding. I know you’re eyeing my flamboyant feathered shoes; they’re by Diego Dolcini.
Thank you to Luisaviaroma for the incredible experience; we hope we can come back soon! If you missed it, check out my coverage of the opening cocktail party, Alexander McQueen outfit, and Jeremy Scott tiger jacket. Luisa also features my photos on their site.
Which of our outfits did you enjoy the most? Would you like to see us at the next Luisa event? If so, please give the buttons below a Like — let’s make it happen!

TRAVEL TV HOSTING REEL, TELEVISION PRESENTER DEMO VIDEO: HOST ON FOOD NETWORK, DISCOVERY, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC.
Muahah! I love my work as a TV host, especially when it involves travel and my frightening friends. I’ve compiled my clips from the past two years in a new pop culture and travel hosting reel.
Watch my presenting above and on YouTube. I hope the video makes you smile.
The TV work is going well… As you know, I’m currently hosting and arranging a Huffington Post Travel TV series on Coolhunting Weird Wisconsin.
My Norway TV gig (above) was quite the adventure. The video includes moments on Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre Foods for Travel Channel, Canal + France, Discovery/Fuel, Today Show, NHK, CNN and more.
There’s much more to come, including my NHK Kawaii TV episode, which airs in January.
You can see full clips and info on my bio page. If you’re looking for a host and fixer (arranger), please keep the Pirates in mind – info about my company’s services here.
What’s your favorite moment in my TV host demo reel? Which TV shows or networks would you like to see me on next?
Song of the Day: Ken Laszlo – Tonight (that’s the instrumental playing in my presenting reel)
