The Doctors TV show guest: Japanese Bagel Head body modification! La Carmina on CBS medical daytime TV show.
As you may have deduced, I was in LA… to be a guest on The Doctors! The hit CBS daytime TV show, which tackles medical and health topics, has 14 million viewers per week and airs in USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Ireland, Sweden and Finland.
I discussed bagel heads (Japan saline forehead inflation) on the show, with John Skeleton as call-in guest. Guess who also interrogated me… Roseanne Barr, presidential candidate and famed comedian!
My bagelhead episode is called “Health Dilemmas Caught on Tape” and aired Wednesday, October 24 in the daytime. Check your local listings for repeats. If you missed it, I got your back — you can watch my segment above and on YouTube.
Ready for behind-the-scenes pics? After the filming at Paramount Studios, I posed with a bagel from the green room. My deco necklace and hair flower clips are provided by Angelica Brigade.
But let’s rewind. I started the day at my beloved Orlando Hotel in West Hollywood, where I always stay. Best staff and green apples on the planet.

I passed security clearance and entered Paramount Studios Lot. The Doctors films at Stage 30, right next to Dr. Phil. The staff escorted me to my private dressing room, with my name on the door.
There was a large wardrobe selection, in case someone showed up in Bermuda shorts.
Funny story: I did my own makeup on the lighter side, since this is a daytime TV appearance. However, when I sat down for a touch-up, the makeup artist decided to dramatize everything!
The finished look. Do you prefer the makeup before or after?
My hair is by the amazing Isolde Semple (remember we did the Huff Post hair video together). She colored it with Joico K-Pak Color Intensity.
Waiting, waiting, in my dressing room. That’s a Hugo poster on the wall (I love this film, saw it twice).
Finally, I was miked up and led to the front row of the studio audience.
During the second segment, Roseanne Barr and all four doctors (Travis Stork, Lisa Masterson, Jim Sears, Andrew Ordon) interviewed me and John (who called in) about Japanese bagel heads.
Is the body mod safe? Is it really a trend? Watch the clip to find out.
I got to chat with the doctors after the show, but didn’t get a chance to take photos. This pose with Dr. Travis Stork will have to do!
Do you like what I wore on The Doctors? What do you think of my TV guest appearance, and the bagel head procedure?
PS: my TV company created a page about Japan bagelheads, where you can learn more and see all our video clips.

I’m back from Hong Kong, and have tons of fun coverage for you. Team Spooky stopped by the Mongkok shopping center, Langham Place, to pose with Halloween displays. “Magician’s Liar?” I think they mean “Lair” …
Heidi and I got these bird-like white coats from my beloved I.T / Izzue store (they have various locations).
John Skeleton recently moved to Hong Kong, and we scouted out the hottest new bars and restaurants. Tons of food coverage coming up.
But first, some spooky-cute shopping. A Mongkok must is New Town Mall (65 Argyle Street, Mong Kok, near Exit D2 of Mong Kok MTR station). On the way, we found 666 Nathan Road.
New Town Mall is filled with small shops, many featuring Japanese clothes and goods. Rilakkuma fans would go crazy at this one.
Miffy addicts, this one’s for you. (Wait til I show you photos of the Miffy Causeway Bay store, which I cleaned out…)
Items are as cute as the ones in Japan, but much cheaper. In Hong Kong, you’ll pay half the price or less!
Princess House specializes in fairy kei and pastel Goth fashion.
Nail art is taking over the world.
At the Evil Lady store, each item is $5-15 US.
Have I sold you on Hong Kong yet? If you’re planning a trip, I recommend booking a local apartment from Wimdu, a secure rental site with rooms around the world. I stayed in the Jordan district, right across the street from Austin Station. It was fun to live “Hong Kong Style” — a small but cozy place, with powerful water pressure and AC, in the same building as local residents. The experience’s authentic, and prices are as low as $40 a night (that’s right!).
Thanks Wimdu — I enjoyed living in this colorful Kowloon neighborhood.
What do you think of Hong Kong’s cute and Goth shop selection? Join me at the LA parties (tell your friends) and stay tuned for updates on my TV appearance.
