TOKYO JAPAN SUBCULTURES PARTY: ABSINTHE, SPANKING & DEATH METAL BANDS! JAPANESE MISTRESS, PRIVATE PARTIES.
When Yukiro has a bottle of Dracula’s Blood in his hands… you know it’s about time to party!
We decided against the red liquor (blood is best consumed fresh, from the neck of young virgin emo boys). Instead, we picked from the large selection of absinthe.
Love Mistress Maya’s tights, marked with a Gothic decal.
First, we had sushi and sake at Hibari, the cheap conveyor sushi parlor in Kabuki-Cho. We’re always there in extreme outfits, chewing raw fish next to sleepy host boys (remember this and this post?)
Now, I must be a little vague about what came next. We congregated in someone’s hotel room — I can’t say who. But I can tell you that the absinthe flowed.
The spooky guests included Ako (designer of punk brand Blablahospital), Alex the magician, Maya the Midnight Mess mistress, and Luke of crunk-step Chaos Royale.
Per Heimly showed us his photos of black metal band Dimmur Borgir, and bloody naked girls.
But the most frightening image of all… is the floppy disk that Yukiro was forced to use for a school project!
Vogue, vogue.
More guests showed up, fresh from 2-choome (the Shinjuku gay club district). Things got progressively wilder. When Maya’s in a good mood, she begins to torture boys…
We can’t show you everything that happened, but trust me: this lad got some Discipline and Punishment!
Oh, the scandal that goes on behind closed doors… the secrets that never make it onto this blog!
In J-news…
♪ The Visual Kei band break-ups continue. UnsraW (above) has parted ways after vocalist Yuuki left the group. Danger Gang’s drummer Rei and bassist Thera have also announced they are leaving the band. Hopefully Danger Gang will keep going despite the departures.
♪ My friend Mai Sassy Girl has fab coverage of Asia Girl’s Explosion, the Tokyo Girls Collection fashion and music event featuring Yoshiki, Heath, Marilyn Manson and more.
♪ Yahoo recently published an article about X Japan, with a few errors. I learned Yoshiki goes grocery shopping in public!

AMAZING RACE GOTH TEAM RETURNS: KENT & VYXSIN UNFINISHED BUSINESS PREMIERE! ALL-STARS AT DAS BUNKER, LA GOTHIC NIGHTCLUB.
My friends Kent and Vyxsin, the Goth team on The Amazing Race, are back in the new all-stars season! The dark duo first raced in 2007 and almost made it to the finish line. This time, will they take home $1,000,000?
The new Amazing Race: Unfinished Business premieres on Sunday night. Support your fellow Goths; spread the word and cheer them on!
After our NOH8 photoshoot with Adam Bouska, Sebastiano and I couldn’t let our temporary tattoos and Mana-sama hair go to waste. Vyxsin was feeling a bit ill — the two were recovering from the grueling race — so we met Kent Kaliber at Das Bunker.
La Carmina wears: lace top by Moi-meme-Moitie, blue high-waisted corset dress by Atelier Pierrot, boots by Alice and the Pirates.
Sebastiano wears: zebra top and asymmetrical jacket, gifted from Lip Service.
Das Bunker is one of our favorite places in LA for dark culture and dancing. There are spacious sitting areas and dance floors for Industrial, 80s/Goth, and Power Noise (DJ SiSEN’s favorite room). Did you miss my previous Das Bunker photos and report?
Isn’t it brilliant how Seba went from a shy virgin victim (remember our Candy Spooky Theater video?) to a deathrock Goth monster? You can add Seba’s Facebook page to keep up with his descent into the dark side.
We’re swamped with preparations for bringing NOH8 Campaign to Japan, but so happy to be part of the cause! Thanks to all of you for your support; we’ll have info soon about how you can help.
Das Bunker always has colorful characters.
You may recall that last year, Yukiro and I met Kynt and Vyxsin at MAGIC tradeshow in Las Vegas. We hit it off, and hung out several times, including at the Alice in Wonderland party at Bar Sinister.
It was great to catch up again with Kent, and meet Diamond from LA Weekly. He’s had a hard time since his dad died unexpectedly last year. But the Pink & Black Attack is back, and the Amazing Race is on!
The Amazing Race’s new special season premieres Sunday at 8pm on CBS (they’re headed first to Australia). Kent and Vyxsin are are having a screening party in Los Angeles, and you’re invited. Join them from 6-11pm in Burbank; details are on Facebook.
PS: Got a new TV hosting and arranging job… in Tokyo! Details on my blog soon. I’m also in a Norway TV promo right now (a commercial for the Ari & Per travel show that I co-hosted in Japan). My episode airs Feb 25 on NRK.
