New TV work: Traveling to Phoenix, Arizona & Tokyo! Hong Kong fashion inspiration: women’s clothing, shoes, shops.
Winter’s in full swing, but I’ll be under the sun in Phoenix, Arizona… followed by Tokyo!
Phoenix’s tourism board is flying me in and hosting me on a December press trip. I’ll be making videos and blogs, about ghost towns and alternative culture (yes, it does exist here!) Excited to visit for the first time.
Do you have travel suggestions for me? Must-visit destinations? Let me know in the comments or on my Facebook.
Additionally, the Pirates will be in Tokyo, Japan in early 2013, to work on a big TV show. More details soon, and keep your eyes on this blog for casting notices (you can possibly join our filming).
Above photos by Lisa Boyle, from my “monstrous” photoshoot with Josie Stevens. Click to see all the costume modeling.
Since you enjoyed my Hello Kitty store photos, here’s more fashion from Hong Kong. Causeway Bay is one of my favorite shopping districts, specializing in Japanese style.
Bread n Butter’s feminine collections are modeled by Angelababy.
Inside the Japanese department store Laforet are shoes fit for Lady Gaga.
The spirit of Marie Antoinette is alive.
Gyaru-style glittery, strappy heels. The ones on the right are decorated with candy gems.
Cinderella’s slipper is made of felt — more comfortable than glass.
Hong Kong is the cat’s meow! For more cute clothing, read my Causeway Bay shopping guide.
What’s on your Christmas list this year? Will you be traveling anywhere during the holidays? Got any Arizona tips for me?

Heading to LA to be a guest on a major TV show! Mongkok Hong Kong shopping, Rilakkuma & Miffy cute toys.
Shiver me timbers… I’ve confirmed a big TV appearance in Los Angeles! I can’t reveal details about it yet… but you’ll find out soon, and I’ll let you know when to tune in. (Update: I was a guest on CBS The Doctors! See La Carmina’s TV video and photos.)
Looking forward to catching up with LA friends, and pre-Halloween partying. Join me at the following events (click the links for full info):
✖ Friday, Oct 19 at Das Bunker: DB16 feat. Suicide Commando. Let’s dance!
✖ Saturday, Oct 20 at Pop tART Gallery: opening of HAPENIS, The Art of Franz Szony.
✖ Saturday, Oct 20 at Bar Sinister: I’m co-hosting the night with Amazing Race’s Kent Kaliber. Celebrating Black & Grey Magazine, and the wrap of LA Fashion Week. RSVP here and I’ll see you there.
I’m back from Hong Kong, and have tons of fun coverage for you. Team Spooky stopped by the Mongkok shopping center, Langham Place, to pose with Halloween displays. “Magician’s Liar?” I think they mean “Lair” …
Heidi and I got these bird-like white coats from my beloved I.T / Izzue store (they have various locations).
John Skeleton recently moved to Hong Kong, and we scouted out the hottest new bars and restaurants. Tons of food coverage coming up.
But first, some spooky-cute shopping. A Mongkok must is New Town Mall (65 Argyle Street, Mong Kok, near Exit D2 of Mong Kok MTR station). On the way, we found 666 Nathan Road.
New Town Mall is filled with small shops, many featuring Japanese clothes and goods. Rilakkuma fans would go crazy at this one.
Miffy addicts, this one’s for you. (Wait til I show you photos of the Miffy Causeway Bay store, which I cleaned out…)
Items are as cute as the ones in Japan, but much cheaper. In Hong Kong, you’ll pay half the price or less!
Princess House specializes in fairy kei and pastel Goth fashion.
Nail art is taking over the world.
At the Evil Lady store, each item is $5-15 US.
Have I sold you on Hong Kong yet? If you’re planning a trip, I recommend booking a local apartment from Wimdu, a secure rental site with rooms around the world. I stayed in the Jordan district, right across the street from Austin Station. It was fun to live “Hong Kong Style” — a small but cozy place, with powerful water pressure and AC, in the same building as local residents. The experience’s authentic, and prices are as low as $40 a night (that’s right!).
Thanks Wimdu — I enjoyed living in this colorful Kowloon neighborhood.
What do you think of Hong Kong’s cute and Goth shop selection? Join me at the LA parties (tell your friends) and stay tuned for updates on my TV appearance.
