HALLOWEEN GOTHIC MAKEUP, TUTORIAL VIDEO: SUGARPILL COSMETICS, EVIL QUEEN SATANIC JAPANESE BEAUTY TECHNIQUES!
Oh sweet Satan! Another day, another juicy piece of news: I’ve been invited by YouTube to join their Partners program. Thank you to everyone for watching my videos and commenting — this wouldn’t have been possible without you! As a Partner, I’ll have more leeway with my channel, and I’m determined to step it up. So you can expect many more “top quality” videos on my YouTube channel from now on (please subscribe so you won’t miss them!)
Let’s kick things off with the third installment of the Evil Queen makeup series. Our new video, filmed in Tokyo on All Hallow’s Eve, is our most Satanic one yet.
Muahah, your favorite Evil Queen Bitches are back! La Carmina and Yukiro Dravarious come up with the genius idea of ordering “room service.” Using Shrinkle’s Sugarpill Cosmetics eyeshadows, they transform an innocent maid (Naomi) into the spawn of SaTaN!
We hope you enjoy the skimpy Goth Nun costume, pirate rum, scary friends and the torturing of our new minion, G-suS.
See the devilish deeds above and on my YouTube. If you fell over laughing, please subscribe to my channel. More video adventures to come!
As you may know from my Twitter, life has been very good to me lately. Super hectic and filled with exciting projects. I have a new major writing job (or two!), travel gigs and TV things in the works… and something big planned for 2011 (I think it will surprise you). Can’t wait to finalize the details and tell you all.
I’m very lucky to have such great friends around me… keep raising hell, spooky kids! Thanks for being there. We’ve built up quite a Halloweentown, haven’t we?
If you missed the previous Evil Queen Goth makeup tutorials, here are links to the first and second videos.
What were your favorite evil moments and quotes? What type of videos would you like to see next? We’ll shoot some in LA…

MAID CAFE IN TOKYO JAPAN: ANGEL & DEMONS, CAFE BAR PRAY. CUTE COSPLAY COSTUMES, WEIRD RESTAURANTS IN AKIHABARA.
O, the bizarre world of Japanese maid cafes! Since I photographed and wrote about the phenomenon in my Tokyo Theme Restaurants book, the Dutch Pepsi TV show wanted to shoot at an Akihabara cosplay cafe. Naomi and I made arrangements with Cafe Bar Pray, a newcomer with an Angels and Demons theme.
Here, half of the servers are innocent seraphs, and the rest are devilishly cute temptresses. Which side of the counter would you sit on?
Naturally, I chose the dark side. My outfit theme was Evil Queen Step-Mother.

I bonded with the cafe manager, Tamao, over our orange hair. He’s a pro at mugging for the camera.
The adorable “Raphael” is the number one maid in Akihabara. (Yes, there’s an annual contest for Japanese maids!)
Each maid has a fake name, age (most are hundreds of years old), and rank in the heavenly hierarchy. Pick your favorite. She’ll give you her name card and prepare her special cocktail.
The maids charm the customers with games, skits, and light-hearted conversation.
Cafe Bar Pray is my new favorite. You’re allowed to take photos inside, the decor is swanky, and there’s a relaxed, anything-goes atmosphere. A nice change from the typical tense otaku hangouts.
The Dutch TV host, Bo, got dolled up like an angel.
We taught her how to make cute poses and decorate Polaroid photos for her admirers.
Can you guess who was our favorite customer-boy?
At Cafe Bar Pray, it doesn’t matter if you choose good or evil. You’ll be smiling from the moment the girls greet you with “Yokoso!”
The Dutch Pepsi TV shoot was great fun. Don’t forget to check out my behind-the-scenes photos and videos in this and this post. There’s more madness to come.
Have you ever been to a maid cafe? Would you want to visit one? Which angel or devil is your favorite?
