SIOUXSIE SIOUX, 1980S GOTH SINGER & STYLE ICON: SPIKED HAIR, EGYPTIAN EYESHADOW.

Siouxsie Sioux photos, Goth spiky hair and butterflies accessories. Creatures and Banshees singer, Siouxsie eyeshadow makeup.

I am friends with Siouxsie Sioux on Facebook, and her photos never fail to mesmerize me. She is, of course, vocalist of Siouxsie & the Banshees and The Creatures (Goth-punk bands most active in the 1980s). Here are some of my favorite photos and quotes…

Siouxsie Sioux Japanese stage outfit, costume and Goth eye makeup. Black ostrich feathers, kimono magazine promotional photo of 1980s singer.

“I’ve never been anti-sex or anti-sexuality. I’m just anti-hypocrisy.”

Siouxsie Sioux 1980s Goth singer, Siouxsie and the Banshees. Black and white 80s Goth club photos, Goth hair and makeup, classic goth stage outfits, costumes and clothing.

“It was trying to break down the stereotypes and it was the kind of thing where, for the first time, women were on a par and not seen as just objects. Though girls were objectified still.”

Goth hair and makeup, Siouxsie Sioux and Banshees, Creatures with Budgie. Spiky black alternative punk emo hair and heavy eyeshadow makeup, black lipstick.

“What people don’t understand is when punk started it was so innocent and not aware of being looked at or being a phenomenon and that’s what everyone gets wrong. You can’t consciously create something that’s important, it’s a combination of chemistry, conditions, the environment, everything.”

The Creatures Siouxsie Sioux band, italo disco. 1980s sexy singer stage outfit, costume, bodysuit on Goth girl.

“You can’t take anything like that seriously. I mean, sex is pretty hilarious anyway.”

Song of the Day #87: Siouxsie and the Creatures – 2nd Floor

She's in her 60s and still looks fantastic, I want to look as good when I'm her age!

She's in incredible shape, judging from the recent bodysuits and performance antics! Go Siouxsie!

Siouxsie was a fairly recent discovery for me in ways of music (approx 1 year ago) but she's had such a dramatic impact since. I listen to her on the subway all the time (first time I heard passenger was on the subway).

It seems I keep stumbling across her more and more, little mentions like this one or other blogs. I don't know if its a coincidence or I'm now noticing because I'm actually aware of who she is.

totally unrelated but I had to share. I forget what season its from (the one with Eva) but on a repeat of ANTM on Oxygen I caught an episode where the 4 girls left on the show had to shop at at least one of 4 stores in Tokyo and then meet back at the MILK press room. two of the stores were Metamorphose and Closet Child. I bout died! lol it was hilarious and awful to watch those girls try to create outfits when they obviously knew nothing about the style.

Fwaaaa, I love Siouxsie. Cities in Dust is my favorite song by her <3 Thanks for including things about Western Music as well, constant VK/Jrock can get a bit repetative…. There are a ton of western artists who are equally as influential and amazing.

In truth, I'm more likely to be blasting cheesy-awesome Italo Disco than Visual Kei, haha. I did some posts on The Horrors, Ipso Facto and others in this category – http://lacarmina.com/category/visual-k

Hahaha, I saw that episode. I was so excited to see the lolita stores, and then the girls totally butchered the style >__< And they were complaining on how stupid it was and how could they be expected to get it? They were all so mainstream, it was laughable.
I couldn't help but think, "Now, why couldn't they have a real lolita on that episode?".

First, to the poster who said she is in her 60's; NO. Born in 1957.
Second, to all the sad Goth crowds that try to claim her as their own, please educate your poor little ghoulish selves. Siouxsie Sioux was part of the Bromley Contingent and was spawned in the punk-petri dish. SS&TB was a splitting edge force that has itself spawned post-punk/goth/glam etc etc bands. Siouxsies influences are everywhere today. Marilyn Manson stole half HIS moves from her.
