LA CARMINA ON FOOD NETWORK TV SHOW. ZAUO FISHING THEME RESTAURANT TOKYO, CHURCH-THEMED CHRISTON CAFE.
Thanks for everyone who watched me on Food Network TV — I appreciate your messages! I was the Tokyo Goth expert guide to Christon Cafe, on the new program “World’s Weirdest Restaurants.”
My purple Gothic dress is gifted by Gloomth. The jewelry was loaned by Strange Freak: a collection inspired by hide of X Japan. I also modeled the accessories in these photos (yes, I have hostess hair).
Naomi and I fixed (organized the local production) of all the Tokyo TV episodes. We cast our spooky friends in this Goth restaurant scene. (For more about our film/TV fixing services, visit our Pirates website.)
I spoke about Japanese dark fashion and culture, and how it fits in with the theme of Christon Cafe.
We ate vampiric bloody rolls, and Tower of Babel salad. Even the menu looks like a Bible!
The relics in the room came from actual Eastern European churches. Sacrilege, or silly? Visit Christon Cafe and decide for yourself.
Address: Oriental Wave Building 8F, 5-17-13 Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Don’t forget to visit Decadance Bar upstairs on the ninth floor. See photos of the wild cyber bar in my Nightlife Guide. (Photos above by Naomi)
Last week’s episode also featured Zauo, a wacky restaurant where you fish for your own fish!
Customers receive a rod and bait. Mistress Maya and HILO reeled in a big one.
You get to catch what you eat. Talk about fresh food…
This shark is a “pet” — don’t try to eat him.
What do you think of this fishing-themed restaurant? Cruel, or kooky?
Zauo is located at Washington Hotel 1st Floor, 3-2-9 Nishi Shinjuku, Tokyo

When oh when can I get my hands on your delicious black leather skull jacket?
We love your fabulous photos @lacarmina! You manage to look different every time we see you
like a lovely doll. So cute. She’s not only a typical Gothic Lolita from Harajuku. She’s very special.
xxoxo
That’s great!
so amazing, love it ! <3
Although I couldn’t catch any fish that night, I had a great time! Nice post!
Love it! Thank you!!!!!!
thank you *D
Wow, having fish that fresh would actually be a godsend here! I may have an intolerance (presents like the flu/allergies) to biogenic amines…which basically means, the older a food is, the more problems it will cause to my health (cuz chemicals like histamine increase rapidly with age, especially with fish!) So, that place would be perfect. ♥ Of course Tokyo does what I love , as usual!
Oh… as a vegetarian, I think it’s cruel, but unusual too. (You look great in the photos;)
Its normal for me. Philippines have that on a fishing farm/restaurant. Or you point then they’ll get it for u to b cooked.
strange XD !
wow they are stunnng! i wish i could go there!
nice^^
Super Cute ♥
fantastic ♥
Beautiful!
I look forward to seeing your video clips from this show!
No crueler than when its killed for you before it reaches the grocery store. no crueler than the lobster tank at red lobster. its old school. just the way humans have done it since the beginning of time.
Despite being a Vegan I actually think the fish place is pretty cool, it’s a lot less cruel than some of the practices of large fishing vessels, it’s fresher and I’ve always said if you’re going to eat an animal then you should be able to look it in the eye before it dies. (FYI I have nothing against people who choose to eat meat or fish, it’s just not what I choose to do).
Definitely!
Have been in Christon Cafe 2 weeks ago. Nice interior! Then having some cocktails at Deca Bar having nice conversation with Adrien! Very interessting! Stylish! Thx for your reports! ♥
