LA GOTH PARTIES: BAR SINISTER HOLLYWOOD, NEW YEAR’S DAY EVENT. ALTERNATIVE INDIE ROCK CONCERTS, BEST JAPANESE PARTY HOSTS EVER.
Ai-yah! Yesterday’s post garnered a lot of controversy about Sebastiano’s ethnicity and orientation. Today’s photos should only keep you guessing…
On New Year’s Day, we hosted a Goth party at Bar Sinister Hollywood. It was a pleasure to meet many of you in person. We caught up with Bill from Hyaena Gallery, and Jenna Valentine.
Our responsibility was to introduce the alternative bands, The Dreaming and Julian-K. As we hinted on Twitter, we really made a lasting impression on stage... (Read on for the scandalous story!)
Long black Goth dress: Victorian Maiden
Silver cross: an XXX-mas ornament (be creative!)
Lace gloves: Spider, Hong Kong
Devil horns: from Claire’s in Harajuku
Spine necklace: gifted from Like Atmosphere
Red and black corset: gifted from Heavy Red
Black and silver furry leg warmers: gifted from Artisan Socks
Upstairs at Bar Sinister, there was torture equipment and play-stations. The “Elfin King” whipped victims on a giant cross.
Personally, I think I do a more spanking job.
We were a little “absinthe-d” before going on stage…
Which led to some microphone difficulties for the first intro.
The second time we went onstage, we wound up screaming randomly at the audience… “We’re from Japan!” “We’re drunk and hope you are too!” It was a truly magnificent performance. But judging from the daggers shooting out of someone’s eyes, not everyone agreed…
Perhaps Seba’s tour de force was inspired by two of these Adios Motherf**kers (or Sayonara Motherf**kers, as he calls them). Vodka, rum, tequila, gin, Blue Curacao and other lethal ingredients in a glass.
Melissa and her new friend with the lovely smile.
We kept the crazy rolling next door at Broadners, with Carlos and Liz from LA Weekly.
The night ended with us getting into a physical fight at Denny’s (Seba still has scratch marks on his neck) and something involving a swimming pool. Wouldn’t you agree we’re the best party hosts on the planet?
Bonus: Sebastiano Photoshopped me into his perfect girl. The photo of him, however, is not retouched at all. (Or is it?)
Interested in having us host an event, or make a guest appearance? Email me — we’re always open to attending anime conventions, fashion shows, travel / press junkets and more… (Comment and let us know about upcoming events, and we can chat with the organizers.)

BUDGET CAR RENTAL SUPPLIER ARGUS CAR HIRE: CRUISING LOS ANGELES IN A BLUE CONVERTIBLE! FUNNY NEW VIDEO.
Introducing our lovely new friend: Argus Car Hire! The Ireland-based supplier let Japanese celeb Sebastiano Serafini and me play with a Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible during our Hollywood Invasion. A dream vehicle for cruising around LA… and the blue color even matches Seba’s (un-Photoshopped!) eyes.
Unlike your typical rental car company, Argus has incredible customer service — there’s always someone with a friendly Irish accent to help you, at any hour. The website is easy to navigate, and works with over 550 suppliers worldwide — such as Alamo, Enterprise, National and Thrifty. Meaning that wherever you are, you’ll be sure to get a sweet car to fit your budget!
In our new video, you can see the fun we had riding in the convertible. Sebastiano fills the gas for the first time (with some difficulty). He answers questions about why he became a model, and what’s his ethnic background. (Maybe…)
We wound up in silly situations, such as driving on the highway with the top down. Come see the action in the new video on YouTube and above. Be sure to watch the art film at the end!
Leopard print clothes and Seba’s necklace: gifted from Like Atmosphere (He models for them)
Carmina’s Swarovski pearl imitation necklace: gifted from Grotan (Japanese designer — buy it here)
Carmina’s black necklace: gifted from RJ 1959 (Seba’s their model)
Cut-out boots: on sale at Marui One Shinjuku (these got a lot of attention in LA)
The next time you’re travelling and need a rental vehicle, give Argus Car Hire a looky-loo — they’ll hook you up with real-time access to the world’s cheapest all inclusive deals. We encourage you to add our lovely new friends on Facebook and Twitter.
Have you ever rented a car while visiting a new city? What was the experience like? Did you end up in any funny adventures like ours?
