BEST NEW YORK GAY, GLAM CLUB NIGHT! TRASH NYC WEBSTER HALL ANNIVERSARY PARTY, DRAG QUEENS & BUTCHER KNIFE PURSE.
Let’s scream it loud and clear. La Carmina’s keeping her foot firmly planted in the world of subcultures!
None of the NY Fashion Week parties held a light to Trash! NYC, the legendary alt/glam club. Ready for the epic, epic photos?
I was one of the hosts of the 10th anniversary extravaganza, held at Webster Hall’s Studio.
What joy to be reunited with my NYC spooky crew! (Photos with this watermark by Nicky Digital.)
Everyone wanted to hold my bloody butcher knife purse, a gift from Kreepsville 666.
Handmade hair flower accessories: gift from Angelica Brigade
Heart sweater: got it in Mongkok, Hong Kong
Jenny wears an h.NAOTO top. Kanae rocks a Jim Sinn jacket, Boy London shirt, and Underground creeper shoes.
Yukiro Dravarious, evil queen from space, filled out a Police Girl vintage dress from Stockholm.
This photo pretty much summed up the atmosphere.
We alternated between dancing on stage, and hanging in the private back room.
The magnificent DJ Jess spun 80s and 90s hits, mixed with electronic, punk, New Wave.
Above two photos by May Young, who interviewed me for The Examiner (thank you!)
My black tulle skirt is gifted by Shabby Apple, from the Tinsel Town vintage-inspired collection available here.
The room was filled with stunning drag queens and space-glam looks.
Finally, an event where people put effort into lavish, handmade outfits.
And dare to get naughty.
Another Webster Hall event was going on at the same time. We enjoyed spooking the “normal” crowd.
Between the DJ sets, there were drag performances…
Burlesque stripteases…
An old school Goth band, and a mass spanking!
Oh, what an evening. NYC friends, you’ve got to experience Trash. Upcoming dates are on their Facebook.

CUTE SWEET LOLITA DRESS, VAMPIRE GOTH MAKEUP. ZELDA KAPLAN DIES: FRONT ROW OF JOANNA MASTROIANNI NY RUNWAY SHOW.
Ready? Set? My New York Fashion Week coverage commences! Let’s begin with a runway show of drama and death.
It was Yukiro’s first time in NYC. On Feb 15th, we cabbed to the Joanna Mastroianni show from our space-disco hotel, Yotel. (Soon, you’ll see photos and videos of our stay.)
The big Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week shows are at Lincoln Center. We had second-row seats in the Studio.
Sweet Lolita aristocrat dress: gifted by Gloomth
Flower fascinators: gifted by Angelica Brigade
Heart knee-high socks: got them in Tokyo
I rarely do the sweet, innocent look… but hey, you gotta mix it up!
Horror necklace: gifted by Sourpuss
The old guards keep the fashion guests in order. They’re legends in their own right.
The collection was inspired by the unmatched “rare bird” designer, Iris Apfel (right). To her left (photo by WireImage) is socialite and fashion icon Zelda Kaplan. Minutes later, tragedy struck…
The 95-year-old Zelda sat in the front row. As the show began, she slumped over (see yellow arrow)… and died.
Yukiro and I were transfixed by the show, and didn’t realize this until later. What a collection. Peacock feather neck wraps, cut-out structured shoulders, spiked African wristbands, cotton ball hats.
Designer Joanna insisted that Iris Apfel join her on stage.
It was one of best shows I saw this season; touching and bittersweet.
Yukiro’s elegant vampire outfit is by the Tokyo-based label, Death By February.
Our NYFW schedule was insane… can’t wait to show you all the photos. I made a point to cover events that would interest you, such as the Japan and Korea collections, and underground Goth/alt events.
Close-up on my accessories.
Silver ring: gifted by Fashionology
Mary Jane Lolita shoes: Yosuke, got them at Marui One Shinjuku

Yukiro was constantly photographed.
Bombarded outside Lincoln Center.
Love the detailing of his outfit: buttons, lace and layers.
More from NYC coming right up, please be patient.
Thanks to The Daily Beast for reporting on my IFB Conference panel. Also, check out my my style gallery for AOL, featuring Bryanboy, The Coveted, Mat Devine of Kill Hannah and more.
Should I wear more Sweet Lolita / Aristocrat outfits? Are you inspired by the “advanced style” of owl-eyed fashion icons, Iris and Zelda? RIP…
