On the cover of Vanity Magazine! Gothic Cute fashion photoshoot in Wilde Hunt custom skeleton corset.
I’m tickled pink to reveal… the new issue of Vanity Magazine with La Carmina on the cover!
Billed as a “lifestyle magazine with an edge,” Vanity UK features alt fashion, music and culture. We shot in a potato field outside Vancouver, with my big blow-up “Death Cookbook” bear.
Photographer: Jesse Winter Heading
Assistants & stylists: Alena Shason, Diana Heading, Sean Lenihan
Hair: Isolde Semple of Avant Garde Hair Vancouver (remember our hairstyling video?)
Custom skeleton corset: loaned by Wilde Hunt Corsetry (I wear this in an upcoming TV show!)
Black Victorian dress: gifted by Heavy Red
Jesse and Diana made this freaky-cute scarecrow.
Skull bracelets and hair clips: gifted by Kreepvile 666
Goth top and skirt: from Alena’s personal wardrobe — old school Lip Service!
Sugar skull heels: gifted by T.U.K Shoes
Lavender and black skirt: Algonquins, from Closet Child Tokyo
Spooky top: Black Peace Now, from Closet Child Tokyo
Faux fur jacket, top hat, socks: from my collection
Shooting outdoors = epic effects.
Sean took these behind-the-scenes snaps, which show the fun we had.
The first set-up.
Diana laces me into my Wilde Hunt handmade corset with a Da Vinci print. The detailing is extraordinary.
Plaid on plaid.
Happy with the results.
That’s a wrap!
Thank you Vanity Magazine UK for the cover, spread and interview! You can pick up the October issue in digital or print.

In a 3-page spread, Sugar Heart interviews me about my work in travel TV and underground coolhunting.
The magazine’s dedicated to alternative pinup and burlesque models, tattoos, pulp fiction, art, and vintage style. Pick up a copy for tons of inspiration.
The bird skull is a necklace gifted by Fashionology.
The more I wear it, the more I love latex.
Now, for some behind the scenes shots. We set up a studio in Avant Garde Hair salon in Vancouver.
Thanks to Ross Wilson for the hair styling assistance.
And to Tracy for her endless energy.
Close-up on the eyes. Note the gems, layers of eyelashes, and eyebrows drawn above my natural ones (which were covered up).
Huge thanks to my team, who also created the Prysm Magazine and Alt Noir photos…
