BLOGTV LIVE INTERNET VIDEO CHAT: LA CARMINA WEBCAM INTERVIEW, TOKYO LOLITA.
I’ve never owned a webcam, and that’s probably a good thing – because boy, live Internet video chat shows are crack-level addictive. Today, I was the guest on Tokyo Cooney, a weekly BlogTV show hosted by comedian and writer Kevin Cooney. Our topics of conversation included: steampunk, theme restaurants, 80s Goth music, Lolita fashion… and ZOMBIES!
I was online for three hours, but time flew fast. If you missed me, you can watch eight recorded segments from the show on Tokyo Cooney’s archive page. Below, we discuss Dita Von Teese, the pedophilic connotations behind the word “Lolita”, creepy old men photographing cosplayers, derivative mainstream and subcultural fashion, and our love of (Japanese comedy TV character) Hard Gay.

Ohhhh, gotta watch those clips when I get home! I'd like to know what you think about Dita von Teese. I used to think she was kind of cool. Then I saw an interview with her and Marilyn Manson… and I was not particularly impressed with her intelligence there.

Wish I'd caught the whole thing online.
I didn't know dita had fake boobs, learn something new every day, still adore her.
I think i would be put off lolita abit if over here it was as common, with people just taking style straight out of magazines. I suppose it would pretty up the streets abit though, no more rows of ugg boots!
Closet child sure is awesome, isn't it? My friend who visited Japan a couple times says that's the only place where your really get a good deal for brand clothing. ^^
I stopped watching a couple minutes after you and Cooney started talking (homework and boyfriend call! xD), but I'll watch the clips eventually (probably after next week ^^; ).

Hey La Carmina. I stopped by in the broadcast for a while…tried to offer some constructive comments in relation to the topics of gothic and lolita fashions! It was a bit hard to get a word in though, as the majority of the people there seemed to be outlandish perverts wasting space…but all in good fun, yes?
