SPOOKY, CUTE, GOTHIC, HALLOWEEN ART DRAWINGS! WINNERS OF GOTH WITH OH & LACARMINA TSHIRT ILLUSTRATION CONTEST.
You. Pirates. ROCK! Thank you for the 40+ entries in my Go With Oh t-shirt design competition. The winner is at the very bottom of this post, so scroll down… down… down…
First, I want give my heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part. I’m blown away by your talent and effort; you all deserve to be honored. So I’m going to turn your designs into a backdrop for my walls! This way, your art will be a permanent part of my life and work. (Update: see the art piece I made.)
But there is only one contest winner… read on to see who took the top prize. (Image above by Yoru.)
I want to individually recognize every artist who submitted a drawing (these are posted in no particular order). Thank you Maruka; I love the Rococo frame and pirate flair. You really captured Basil Farrow’s expression.
Thank you Spike for making me into a witchy-woman! I break into a grin every time I see your work. Can’t wait to hang it on my walls.
Thank you Бонно-Бокко Хо – it’s wonderful how you incorporated the bats into the drawing. You perfectly drew Basil’s round, “good boy” face!
Thank you, Raido – I would wear this outfit in a heartbeat. The ghosts are awesome: they remind me that no matter where we are in the world, we can find spooky friends.
Thank you, Jenny – your drawing style is wonderfully unique. I love the Goth and sweet items you surrounded me with, that’s exactly what I’m about.
Thank you Marketa: a powerful work. The fangs and cross-hatching are marvelous, and it’s clever how you turned the forehead into a world map.
Thank you, Love Macabre – your name says it all. The rendering is magnificent, and Basil Farrow dangles exactly like that, with one paw out.

Aww! Thank you Melissa for Basil with bat wings. From the little ears to the sideways feet, you nailed it.
Thank you Reileen for the utterly spook-tastic design. The spiral eyes are mesmerizing.
Thank you, Rochelle, for making me “Mistress in Spookyland.” Love my Hello Kitty hair, and how Basil is the white rabbit with a bow tie.
Thank you, Lizz – I love the composition with the flowing hair and “conjuring” hands. Super spooky.
Thanks Kelly for not one by TWO cute designs, which look amazing on the t-shirts. I spot Basil’s fat tummy and that Seba-slave boy!
Basil in a bow tie – it doesn’t get better than that. Thank you Denise, your coloring skills are outstanding.
Thank you Dine: I love the anime style and outfit, super sweet.
Thank you Bianca – I’ve never looked so good in a corset! Very great idea with the lace at the bottom of the shirt.
Thank you Yoru for the designs, one for each of us. Your drawing style stands out; as Yukiro says, “your sense of Art is so unique.”
Thank you Jesus – Nyanpire power! A Rockin’ work.
Thank you Valeree – I can’t resist Basil with a paw up! I love the Visual Kei ad reference in your entry.
Thank you Ruru-chan, you sketched our essence to perfection. The eyes and hair are undeniably us.
Thank you Kyoko – what a striking design, with fab use of line and color.
Thank you Kururu for zombie-fying me! I dig how I still manage a cute pose.
Thank you Johnny for the eye-popping CGI, such a cool effect.
Thank you, Rainbow Natalia. The face and pose are totally me, although I think I’d freak out over the crawling spiders!
Thank you Ching Lian – such a sweet, Japanese drawing style. Love my hair here, and happy Basil.
Wow, Eunice – I need to do my makeup and hair like this, it’s magnificent. So cool how you combined Yukiro and me in a space-alien-like being.
Looks like I have two conjoined Sebastianos to punish – thanks Eliartsy! The balloons are a fun touch.
Thank you, Kylie: such an elegant rendering, I love it.
Thank you Dafne: your design got a ton of likes and it’s easy to see why. The Gothic Aristocrat ribbon looks bloody great on a tee.
Thank you Kelly – I can’t resist Basil lying upside down, especially with his short paws in the air. Daww.
Thank you, Tequila Mockingbird: a vampire-tastic design that takes flight with bat wings.
Thank you Rebecca, you have stand-out style. You nailed my new hair color.
Thank you, Rebecca – I love how you drew my spiky hair and vampire-shaped lips.
Thank you Rachel for the passport to Spookyville! Awesome pointed nails.
Бонно-Бокко Хо I love your birds-eye view of my outfit in this post. You’ve got mad skills.
Thank you Louise, I love the outfit, and your art makes me think “Where in the world is La Carmina?”
Thank you Momo for the cool combination of photos and anime girl sketches.
Thank you Izzy: tentacles, absinthe – these are a few of my favorite things. The ghost coming out the hat is the cherry on top.
Thank you Eliartsy for the Alice in Wonderland drawing of me. Wish I had a giant rabbit like that.
And our winner… Joanna of Maqaroon! It was crazy difficult for me to pick one design, but she got the most Facebook Likes/Tweets, and thumbs up from my friends and family. The coloring of my hair, and Basil Farrow in a German hat are adorable. We’ll wear this t-shirt while traveling, and Joanna gets a copy.
But remember, all your artwork will become part of my living space and photoshoots. Thank you so much for the time and energy you put in. (Update: see the art piece I made.)
Off to Spooky Europe now! Be sure to add Go With Oh on Facebook, and La Carmina on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (lacarmina) to follow my journey to Berlin, Leipzig Wave Gotik Treffen and Prague. More details here.
Which drawings did you like the most? What are your favorite depictions of me, Basil and Yukiro?
