Happy Fourth of July! May you have a bloody scandalous weekend. Basil Farrow has dual citizenship (he was born in Connecticut but flew to Vancouver), so he’s waving a flag from Canada Day, which was on July 1st.
If you have a few days off and are feeling bored, my Scottish Fold has some suggestions for passing the time. Basil is a fan of reading; at least, he likes to sit on newspapers and books! Sunday is a great day to catch up on news, revisit your favorite novels, or dive into the La Carmina blog archives. (Perhaps you missed my previous Tokyo adventures or how-to tutorials.)
Everyone deserve to be pampered once in a while (or, in the case of my cat, every 30 minutes). No need to shell out money to visit a spa. I love to relax by taking a long bath, putting on a facial mask, and painting my nails.
And finally… catch up on sleep! That’s my foldy-eared kitty’s secret for staying forever cute. If you want to see more of my kawaii Scottish Fold, I just added new photos to Basil Farrow’s Facebook (add him to see).

Your cat is so cute! How do you get him to stay on front of the camera?

Canadians are peaceful, so we didn’t fight the British in order to gain independence from them in 1867. ;) The British North America Act gave Canada its own self-government, judicial system etc. By the way, they don’t tell you in American history textbooks that Canada invaded the US and burned down the White House after Americans attacked them and tried to take their land http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_1812
Thanks for the information. ^^ There are so many things about British, Canadian, American and Irish history that I don’t know since there’s practically no way to learn about them, other than Wikipedia. And even there, they are sometimes too complex to understand. Really thanks ! ^^
By the way, that was my first thought when my parents bought my lil’ doggy some years ago. But then we realized that he hates kids, loves only my parents and even the few kids he likes, he jumps them (if you get what I mean… >.>) Plus his hairdresser did something awful to him. >_<

For weekends/holidays/relaxing I do for the most part a few consistant things.
1. Boozing, not too much, just enough. Obviously that is different for everyone. I like a 750ml bottle of wine.
2. Chores. Which sounds beyond strange to some, but I like planning and completing small silly tasks.
3. Walks, with or without booze and music (better with both usually)
4. People; friends, strangers, family, lovers, who cares. People are usually good times I find.
I am fond of absinthe (as the world knows) and fine wine (a bit of a snob in this area) and non-sweet non-vodka non-beer concoctions hehehe. ;)

I went to karaoke with friends one night, and I had a girls night out to see Miyavi in concert the other! I was too tired from that to see the fireworks today. XP
(o n__ n o) for both!! That’s what I call a happy weekend. Miyavi was a god, yes??
Yeah. I couldn’t believe half of the stuff he did on-stage, like going down into the splits and playing the guitar behind his back. 0_0 He and his mini-band generated so much energy.
The funny thing about our karaoke night was that I showed up dressed NANA-inspired punk style while my boyfriend was in his 1950s gangster outfit. We joked that we should always mismatch when we go out. XDDD
