EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: MANA SAMA & KOZI PERFORM IN TOKYO! MOI DIX MOIS LIVE CONCERT, DEEP SANCTUARY TOUR, MALICE MIZER VISUAL KEI.
Malice Mizer veterans Mana sama and Kozi are reunited on their Deep Sanctuary tour! I saw Moi dix Mois & Kozi perform live at Ebisu Liquidroom in Tokyo, Japan (July 19, 2009). In this video, La Carmina and friends report on the concert experience…
† Japanese Goth fashion: we’re wearing Alice Auaa, New Rock, Innocent World, vintage.
† Kozi’s performance: we have a renewed appreciation for his music. To our surprise, Kozi sang all the songs himself and included tracks from Eve of Destiny.
† The god(ess) known as Mana-sama: he touched us! The footage of Moi dix Mois speaks for itself.
† Deep Sanctuary merchandise: Mana’s custom ESP guitar with a light-up blue cross.
† Best moment: for the encore, everyone put on tour T-shirts… then Kozi and Mana came out arm in arm and performed a song together.
What’s the verdict on Kozi’s polka dot pierrot pants? Hot or not?
And what do you think of the show? As I mentioned before, Mana isn’t massively popular in Japan any more. Gackt sells out stadium arenas, whereas this venue held fewer than a thousand people and had tickets at the door…

MANA SAMA COSPLAYERS & ELEGANT GOTHIC LOLITAS AT MOI DIX MOIS CONCERT, TOKYO EBISU LIQUIDROOM, JULY 2009. MALICE MIZER FANS IN MOI MEME MOITIE.
“Blue, blue, my world is blue…” At the Moi dix Mois + Kozi “Deep Sanctuary” concert, so much is true.
Venue: Ebisu Liquidroom, Tokyo Japan. Date: July 19, 2009. Best outfit in the room: the Mana sama cosplayer in the wheelchair above!
The fans: like at Gackt, 80% female. Color scheme: black, white, blue. Lolita brands worn: Moi meme Moitie (Mana’s Elegant Gothic Lolita/Aristocrat fashion line), of course.
I lucked out and got a $55 ticket at the door. Imagine hundreds of heavily-layered Lolitas, crammed into a lobby on a sweltering summer day… the photo above is a hint at the madness.
The concertgoers came early to browse merchandise. At 5pm, an announcer began calling out ticket numbers (the venue is standing room only, but those with better numbers got to enter first and grab the best spots). Kozi began playing around 6pm; in Japan, the concerts are almost always on time.
Many older fans have been following Mana around since the days of Malice Mizer. The woman on the far left came with her daughter. Now that’s a glowing example of growing up Gothic.
Of course, Mana and Kozi have teenage Lolita fans as well. Which of the outfits do you like best?
And here are the boys: dandys and cosplayers in platform heels.
Get set for a video and concert review. We quite enjoyed the opening act, Kozi, who is our…
