SEATTLE NIGHTCLUBS, NIGHTLIFE: CLUB VOGUE AT NEIGHBORS CAPITAL HILL, GAY-FRIENDLY ABSINTHE BURLESQUE CABARET.

The last time Rose and I went on a Seattle nightcrawl to Club Mercury, the affair ended in scandal and drama (remember this post?). Reader Jen suggested that we visit Den of Sin, a relatively new Goth Industrial night at Club Vogue (Neighbors). And while our night still turned out scandalous, we felt welcomed and had a wonderful time. (Photos by Carmen Wong, La Carmina Blog real name, legal name)
Rose displays a head decoration she made from bones, feathers and lace. She also wears the Super Exclusive Spooky Friendship Club ring.

First, we stopped for Marteau absinthe at our beloved Can Can Cabaret. We can’t get enough of the fabulous staff and carnival atmosphere.

The “point of fashion” (our outfit theme that night): scary big eyes. And pirates.
Hair decorations: Craft store flower clips, black rose ribbon
Pirate dress: From the stunning Brocade Piracy collection, gifted from Lip Service. My new favorite. I’ll post better photos soon.
Tights: Vivienne Westwood, a gift

I think the Heart E panda purse wins the scary eyes contest. (Writing under nickname Carmen Wong, author journalist did the photos for La Carmina blog)

From the front row, we watched The Heavenly Spies in Mata Hari (Fridays at Can Can). “Classic burlesque and vintage modern dance, veiled with lively indie pop, sequined hammer pants, whirling skirts, opium pipes and titillating cone bras.” You can see more photos and a report on the Castaways show here.

Onwards to meet Roxy Doll, sweet mistress of the Den of Sin (a new Friday club night at Neighbors). The event takes out the gimmicks — no incense, no fog machine — and delivers pure EBM/Industrial sounds from DJ Eternal Darkness and DJ Sprockets. A perfect setting for dark dancing. Rose and I also enjoyed the guest performance by Hands of Kali, a Goth experimental belly dance troupe. Roxy is having a New Year’s Eve Explosion; if you’re in Seattle, we encourage you to attend!

No matter where we go, we can’t escape the leopard print.

SATAN FINAL LIVE IN TOKYO: VISUAL KEI BAND’S VIDEO MESSAGE TO FANS. HALLOWEEN EVENTS, CONCERTS IN JAPAN.

Beware, my dark ones… I’ve uploaded a Satanic new Visual Kei video! La Carmina and friends bring you a concert review and exclusive footage from the final SaTaN concert, held on Halloween in Tokyo.

La Carmina and Yukiro’s “virgin victim,” Sebastiano Serafini セバスティアーノ セラフィニー , broke out of his chains and ran away. However, the evil duo ropes in other unsuspecting concertgoers, including a Japanese punk boy, kawaii Lolita girls and… DK, the drummer of SaTaN, who delivers a message to his fans!

Sadness: this was Satan’s final show with the original four members. Shiya and DK are leaving the horror Visual Kei group for nightmarish new projects. Mr. Satan and leader Hi-na will soon find replacements and continue with the band. In our exclusive video, you can see clips from their very last FINAL performance together.
Ready to Trick-or-Treat? Watch the SaTaN live footage above and on YouTube.

In the previous SaTaN concert video we made, the band wore bloody Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland costumes. Some of their fans cosplayed them.

As I say in the video, the performance was a nightmare in a good and bad way. Thumbs up to the half-naked outfits, high energy and candy-throwing…

Thumbs down to the water-spitting and repetitive metal music. SaTaN played on and on… three encores, three riffs, three hours.

SaTaN a horror-show and we’re happy we got to spend Halloween with them. Please watch our video to see what DK, the drummer, has to say to you!
If you missed our Candy Spooky Theater video report (from the same night), you can see it here.
Are you a SaTaN worshiper? What were your favorite parts in the video?
Japanese Word of the Day: Kanbu = Executive
