Lolita model from Peru, pretty Gothic Lolita outfit, Japanese knee socks, girl with long bangs and black hair.

† Name: Sueellen
† Age: 20 years

I knew GL style from seeing a few Moi-meme-Moitie dresses and fell in love to the instant because since I was a child the Victorian and Rococo style likes me. Later I investigated more on Lolita style and fell in love much more! I go almost one year wearing the style.

It’s very elegant and feminine.
† What are your favorite GL clothing brands?
Moi-même-Moitié, Angelic Pretty, Putumayo, Baby the Stars Shine Bright, Innocent World.
† Any other comments (inspiration, tips, favorites)?

GOTHLOLI OF THE WEEK #68: KASSANDRA.

Victorian clothing, Gothic Lolita parasol and skirts, elegant goth aristocrat girl.

† Name: Kassandra Leigh
† Age: 20 ( July 2008 )
† Location: Selden ( Long Island ) NY. USA.
† How were you introduced to Gothic Lolita fashion?
Somewhere along my Myspace travels when I was younger I’d come across a few profiles from overseas that dressed lavishly and I was in Love! Before finding out about Lolita-as a specific defined style I’d taken a lot of my wardrobe cues from the 1800s. So it was great to find a name to the look.
† What do you find appealing about GL style and culture?
Fashion is certainly something I love breathing all day long-but I’d probly suffocate if I had to stick to only one and a very defined one at that. So I’m happy to see people taking the Lolita look and weaving it into different styles like retro or decora and making their personalities shine through. Lavish and luxurious, the outfits require a great artistic skill to coordinate -let alone walk in some of the shoes! hehe Of course, I’m not a fan of some of the more catty aspects of the scene. I think like any other group of people, there are winners and losers–but I could do without that!
† What are your favorite GL clothing brands?
Antique Beast and Alice Auaa are probably my favorite established Lolita brands. But if John Galliano ever puts out a line for Lolita he could take the cake in a heartbeat!
† Any other comments (inspiration, tips, favorites)?
Clothes are so pricey!!! That’s why my favorite accessory is a bag of safety pins! Pinning up a normal skirt can make it look like a bustle. Tacking on some angelique netting to your shoulders can instantly make an outfit look haute. And best part- it costs maybe 3 bucks!

Film of the Week #16: Dangerous Liaisons (Glenn Close, John Malkovich, dir Stephen Frears)
