GOTHLOLI OF THE WEEK #75: KEAHL.
† Name: Keahl
† Age: 20
† Location: Panama, Panama
† How were you introduced to Gothic Lolita fashion?
I was introduced to it several years ago, because I’ve considered myself a Japanese culture, fashion and even a Victorian times fan since I was a little girl. I just love their dresses, lifestyle and everything about that elegant world, at the beginning I was not receiving much support from my family and I must admit that sometimes I got a little scared, but then I met some wonderful people that help me with my decision to become a Lolita. I really love those people; they are like my family now, from the forum Lolita in Candyland.
† What do you find appealing about GL style and culture?
It’s the perfect way to merge present and future, the grace, the good manners and fashion taste with a few drops of cuteness and innocence or even craziness… JUST LOVE IT!!
† What are your favorite GL clothing brands?
Ohhhh, Moi-meme-Moitie (I love Mana-sama with all my heart), Mary Magdalene, Alice and the Pirates, Angelic Pretty, Baby the Stars Shine Bright, Putumayo, oohhh so many, so many T_T…
† Any other comments (inspiration, tips, favorites)?

GOTHLOLI OF THE WEEK #74: MALICE.
† Name: Malice
† Age: 666 in alien years (20 in human years)
† Location: Atlanta, Georgia
† How were you introduced to Gothic Lolita fashion?
6 years ago through J-rock and Visual Kei. I used to be obsessed with Mana and so through him I found the Gothic and Lolita Bible. At the time I was a romantic Goth, so I would wear corsets and long ruffled skirts every day, so Gothic Lolita seemed like a step up from what I was already wearing. Through the years my tastes changed and I soon fell in love with all the other Japanese fashion subcultures. Right now I’m more into cyber and decora but I still love Lolita (especially sweet!)
† What do you find appealing about GL style and culture?
I love feeling like a modern day Marie Antoinette. I love the poof and the frills. I also love mixing styles like decora, cyber, and fairy kei with Lolita (I don’t think I’ve tackled them all yet).
† What are your favorite GL clothing brands?
Angelic Pretty, Excentrique, Alice Auaa, Atelier Boz, Shotgun Wedding, Chocochip Cookie.
† Any other comments (inspiration, tips, favorites)?
Life is way too short and fashion is way to arbitrary for you to follow a strict set of rules all the time. Don’t let rules stifle your creativity, but make sure you look fabulous too.
Film of the Week #22: Tokyo Gore Police (Eihi Shiina, dir. Yoshihiro Nishimura. The blood! The camp! A riotous film for anyone who loved Ichi the Killer, Kill Bill, and Lone Wolf.)
