TOQUE DE TOKYO, ANTOINE DE CAUNES JAPON DOCUMENTAIRE: CANAL PLUS. FRENCH TRAVEL TV SHOW, CO-HOSTED BY LA CARMINA.
Tonight, ce soir! French friends, I hope you’ll catch the premiere of Toqué de Tokyo, the documentary that I co-hosted with Antoine de Caunes (of Eurotrash fame).
We filmed the TV program last May, but I haven’t been able to show you any photos from the shoot… until now. Here’s a gorgeous selection by Jérémie Souteyrat.
During the 90 minute show, I take host Antoine de Caunes to Tokyo’s weirdest, wildest pop culture places. We begin with an epic opening sequence, filmed in Ueno Park. Let’s just say it involves Yukiro, a rickshaw and evil laughter.
The crew filmed at the Omotesando Baby Cafe, where posh parents bring their children. As you can imagine, Antoine and I treated our black baby doll with the utmost disregard.
Fun fact: je parles Francais — I speak French — during the entire show.
When you’re co-hosting a TV show with the very funny Antoine de Caunes, work is play.
Epic pirate boots: Alice and the Pirates, from Closet Child
Cake hat: gifted from Agent Lover
Blue and white classical Lolita dress: Metamorphose temps de fille, from Closet Child
Long, trailing sleeved short jacket: Marble, from MaruiOne
We filmed a hilarious scene at…
An ear-cleaning parlor! Can you guess what we pulled out of Antoine’s ear?
Antoine and I discuss the scene with Peter Stuart, the director (who also worked on Eurotrash).
I put the TV crew in touch with Tokyo Decadance, and we organized a big party scene at Decadance Bar. Count de Sang, Yukiro, Naomi and I showed Antoine how we party.
Antoine was quite the sight: walking along Yasakuni-doori with us eccentrics, in a borrowed Hana-Kengo costume!
Watch the 90 minute documentary, Toque de Tokyo…
Lundi, le 15 Novembre: 20h50 sur Canal +
Lundi, le 15 Novembre: 22h15 sur DeCale
(Later, I will put clips on my YouTube channel.)
Thanks to the French TV crew for having me on the show. You can see my TV hosting reels (and learn about my film arranging business) on my La Carmina & The Pirates site. Coming up: more behind-the-scenes photos from the Tokyo documentary.
What do you think of the baby cafe, ear cleanings and Tokyo Decadance photos?

I’m so envious of your adventures! :)
xoxox hugs!
I love your blue and white dress, so cute yet practical. Thumbs up to Antoine for having a great sense of humour. Check him out breaking a move on the last pic! I think Kengo should be worried. LOL.
He is such a great sport — giving every scene 100%. The final party scene was wild!!! I’ll have more pics of it in a little bit.
Super , très sa ma donner envi de voir ton blogue.
Superbe émission,je suis tombe amoureux de toi miss carmina…

That costume looks like it has an fuzzy vagina.
>_< It kinda does… hahah! More photos to come (and clips!)
:) Awesome!!!!! :’D You were and you are very kawaii & fun! (*o*)/
ang cute!
Well, that’s when being Canadian is very handy I guess:P to speak French a whole day while being used to Japanese. I think it’s very impressive.
The babycafe is too cute! I Holland wealthy wives dump their kids at a crêche or with the au pair at home to go shopping or drinking wine. They’re not really moved the overly cuteness of babies.
Did Antoine enjoy Tokyo Decadance?:P
Oh gosh, there were 3 languages going on at the same time, during the shoot… my head was spinning!
Hahah I’m glad I stuck to French while in school. Antoine loved Decadance – so much eye candy! I have a big photo post from the party coming up!
ooo sexy
The only parts I liked were the ones with you!!! The rest of the documentary was about fishes and sex (not together of course! :p) haha And you were so cute speaking french! <3
(^o^)/ Oui c’était drôle et amusant!!! Des choses insolites pour les français, mais c’est pour ça qu’on aime le Japon (‘ _^)
That’s one weird costum….
Did I miss the giveaway of the iron fist shoes? Are do you have yet to annouce them?
>_< I did announce them… the winners are in this post http://lacarmina.com/2010/11/video-candy-spooky-theater-live-halloween-concert-trick-or-treat-tokyo-japan-visual-kei-horror-band/
oeps, I missed that ^^”
Tokyo Decadence was supposed to come to the Netherlands too, two years ago, but it was cancelled D:
I’ll ask Adrien to come next time! They’re always touring Europe. :)
^^ I believe the tour was cancelled because they didn’t sold enough tickets in Germany, and they don’t want to go to Holland alone.
On the other hand, I think I would have got a heartattack! XD Now I am prepared and saw all the crazy stuff of Japan! XD

Looks crazy fun!! You guys get up to the wildest things :DD I esp love Tokyo Decadence, pls tell them to tour Singapore soon because all of us are waiting over here<3 can't wait to view your new clips!
Absolutely!! I want to go to Singapore too
I have just watched the documentary as a preparation for my first trip to Japan this summer. I want to go to the Decadance bar! Il existe des soirées “décadentes” à Paris, mais j’aime croire que c’est beaucoup plus fou à Tokyo. Je rêverais d’avoir un guide comme vous. Merci Carmina de nous faire découvrir ces facettes de la ville.
Merci!
