SWEET LOLITA SHOPPING IN TOKYO, JAPAN. LAFORET HARAJUKU: ANGELIC PRETTY, PUTUMAYO, NILE PERCH, ATELIER PIERROT.
Visiting the Gothic Lolita Punk boutiques in the basement of Laforet department store (on Meiji-doori in Harajuku) feels a bit like trick-or-treat. Each shop is lavishly decorated to match the brand image.
Angelic Pretty is, naturally, an over-the-top pink candyland.
The pastel JSKs aren’t my cup for tea, and I almost never wear pink. I do, however, like the strawberry yukata (summer kimono) on display.
Putumayo is a solid brand with something to please everyone. The clothes range from casual J-rock to Goth to Sweet and Classical Lolita.
The storybook Alice in Wonderland and Cheshire Cat print on this Putumayo Lolita dress is to die for.
Alice and Pirates (left); Metamorphose temps de fille (right). What do you think of the yellow Lolita dress? Too much?
What about this Metamorphose temps de fille coordinate? Sweet meets Gothic.
The shoes and socks at Metamorphose are in a bit of a jumble. I think the store needs a re-design.
Fairy Key shop Nile Perch… it’s like time travelling back to a 1980s girl’s bedroom.
I think my bedroom looked like this when I was a kid.
Which Laforet Lolita shop reflects your personal style the most? For me, it’s Atelier Pierrot and Alice and the Pirates.
Want more photos of these stores? Everything is in my Gothic Lolita Punk shopping guide to Tokyo here.

I want angelic pretty xD
OMG
“The shoes and socks at Baby, the Stars Shine Bright are in a bit of a jumble. I think the store needs a re-design.”
That is still Metamorphose ;)
Err… just trying to keep you all on your toes! Blarrgh fixed it — too early in the morning to compute…
Well…because I don’t normally cross dress ^_^. . . – I can’t really decide.
BUT! If I were to choose what looks quite appealing to me I gotta say I’m dead on with you with the Putayomo Lolita Dress with the Cheshire cat and Alice print. That looks absolutely stunning and gorgeous in my eyes. I also like the Alice and the Pirates – yellow lolita dress. That caught my eye as well…but I feel as if it would be more suited for a 4-5 year old girl…I don’t know it just does. (sigh!) sadly it doesn’t seem that today’s 4-5 year old girls around Silicon Valley or even New York would wear such a thing considering the next thing in fashion is whatever Hannah MONTANA wears. Who knows – she might not wear anything next *groans*.
It just saddens me to know that kids these days look more at the TV then in the pre-historic dress-up box. Where’s imagination?
Anyway…I digress – your travels are awesome as always!
Putumayo… I got my pirate top from there. It’s one of my new favorites. :)

KAWAIIIIIIII <3
I like putumayo’s punk stuff, AATP, Alqoquins(Sp?) BPN etc. Just the punk & elegant stuff!
Those are my favorites too. <3 Got an Algonquins dress for $15 at Ragtag… :D
$15! V.V Wow xD That’s really, really nice!
Damn..
Once you’re IN Tokyo, the clothes aren’t expensive (when bought secondhand)… it’s getting to Japan that eats up costs!1
Alas, I know.. €1500 for a plainticket V_V
OMG, CARMINA I LOVE IT!
love the sweet loli dresses!
Innocent world!
One of my favs too!
Putumayo, Alice and Pirates, Metamorphose
Putumayo for me!
can’t remember if Emily temple cute was there, but if it was I’d pick that. If not then btssb.
I think maybe jumbling them all into one and then letting them explode would somehow be the only thing to describe the best one for me…right now I only have a few pieces of brand names but I wear a bunch of different styles. It depends on how I feel that day of all the different things I could mix and match for an awesome outfit.
haha! I wish the entire Closet Child were my wardrobe… that would be ideal!
I love sweet lolita outfit like baby, the star shines bright or angelic pretty etc. But I’m thinking of trying a little gothic this fall:)
I love the Putumayo Alice in wonderland JSK in th pic so much////
(And I find out Putumayo has lots of cute stuff and the price is not too high. Thank you la Carmina your post let me find out this.)
xoxo
Putumayo isn’t too expensive – I recommend the brand.
I would go bankrupt going to those stores…. I absolutely love Gothic Lolita and even Sweet Lolita :P
My personal style is a hot mess, but I do adore pink (on other people).
I am incapable of wearing pink, too…
I would be broke all the time no matter what style I chose. I love them all. Pink on me is nice and I like it. I love Fushia which is a bright pink. I also love black!
Wow it’s all so pastel pink! I love the look on other people but it seems i’m not capable of anything pastel. Anyone else get the feeling of Minnie Mouse with that black top and red poka dot combo outfit? :)
Totally Minnie Mouse. :)
Everything is so…. pink O_O I LOVE PINK <3Ironic enough that the clothes that reflect me are PUTUMAYO because although I’m a girl, I feel weird in a dress LOLAlso, I think yellow is a tacky piss color for Lolita… unless it’s one of those really light/sunny pastel yellows (not like the yellow that’s being shown. That’s ugly >_>)
I don’t know if I’ve said this before, but when I first saw the name PUTUMAYO I thought it said Putamayo (puta = bitch in Spanish), so I LOL’d hard thinking it was saying “bitch mayonnaise” xD Just a little interesting though I’d thought I’d share with you.
Hahahah that is so funny! I have no idea what the word means… but I’m guessing not that!
Think of it as a new inside joke XD
I actually LOOOOOOOOVE the yellow dress its adorably perculiar if i could get away with wearing lolita i would wear it for sure.
I think it would be awesome to pair a dress like that with a super extreme hairstyle/makeup… like a mohawk haahah
THAT actually would work in my eyes, oh my your giving me ideas now =.=
I’m totally an Alice and the Pirates type of person also. The others are nice on some other people but too cute for me.
I have to go and see Tokyo someday, it’s a must! I’m in Osaka every summer but nothing beats Laforet in shopping, I’m sure…I want to see Nile Perch with my own two eyes T_T
I’ve only ever been to the Metamorphose head-store on Shinsaibashi in Osaka and it was such an awesome feeling ^^ Gotta love their prints!!! All the jumperskirts I have are from Meta cause I feel like they can mix the sweet loli style with an unusual touch, making it not so sweet…I’m not making any sense here, am I….Sorry ^^ Love your blog!!!
