SIN CITY FETISH NEW YEAR’S BALL: VANCOUVER GOTH NIGHTLIFE, BONDAGE DUNGEON.
Halloween and New Year’s are my two most important days of the year, so I made sure to ring in 2009 amidst half-naked revelers and dungeon masters. Promoter Mr. Dark ushered me through the gates of Sin City, Vancouver’s wickedest party for seven years straight. Fetish, bondage, boobage – anything goes, yet the environment is safer and friendlier than your average pop/R&B grindfest.
The fashion was, to borrow a Japanese word, “moriawase”: a fine assortment of Gothic and alternative looks. The gamut ran from 1920s starlet Louise Brooks…
…to the modern androgynous glam of Brian Molko. Quite a few partygoers came prepared for a nuclear fallout.
Sin City paints Vancouver red two Saturdays a month. It’s wild yet inclusive and has a little something for everyone… so strap a stuffed toy to your head and bring on the rubber chaps!

Lady, I don't think you have the permission to use these pictures (Re: Sin City Fetish New Year's Ball: Vancouver) for your personal nor commercial purpose on the internet. I am in one of the pictures. Please take them off your site or I will take legal action.

I do, actually… I was on the press list for the event, and received permission from the promoters to take photographs. I did not take any pictures of the guests without asking their prior permission and informing them that it was for a fashion blog. You may want to contact the promoters if there is a misunderstanding – thanks!

I have just confirmed with Sin City photograher Micheal R. Barrick. Understand that you were given permission by Aaron to take pictures for your blog and the picture is for your own, but this picture was definitely not taken by you, nor had you got my permission to use it on your website. So please do respect my privacy and take it off your blog. Taking picture with your hidden camera is illegal, that's one thing; and posting it on your website or commercial used is never without permission.
Hi,
Thanks for following up. Can you please clarify which photo is of you? I took all of the color photos in this blog post, and asked every person for prior permission – so I'm confused as to why there is a misunderstanding of this sort.
Are you the one in the white dress and garters? If so, I am very confused because I took two photos of you and your friends, and then showed you how they turned out. Your friends insisted that we take one more in order to show off your legs better! Seemed to me like you consented…
It is the top roll center picture. I am wearing all white. My concern is you may have taken my pic and shown it to me, but you did not inform me that it would be posted to the internet as public property. If you intended to post anyone's picture to the internet, you are required to have a waiver signed by the photo subject.
Hm, I would disagree with that… for the most part, roving club photographers and authorized press do not require signed waivers, merely verbal consent. The photo is for illustrative reporting purposes only (it does not mention your name or say anything slanderous about you). I made my best effort to tell every person I photographed that the photo was for a fashion blog – but perhaps it was too loud in the club and the message wasn't conveyed? In any case, I don't want there to be bad feelings- how about I blur your face out?

Come on lady, you never mention anything about fashion blog and you kno with. The only question you asked was if you could take a picture for me, like many people did that night. People asked to take pictures with me at NY and we were all in good spirits having a great time. I really don't have any problem taking pictures with people at Sin city as long as the images are for their personal joy and collection. You have never told me anything about using in your fashiop blog, nor have I never give you permission to use it for commercial purpose. You may have permission to take pictures in Sin City. But you DO NOT have my permission to use my images. That's the end of discussion.
BTW, what we wear is nothing to do with your fashion.
You aren't the designer for any one of our clothes here.
Why mislead your readers?

The promoters were kind enough to allow me to cover the event and get the word out on what I thought was an excellent party. It’s unfortunate that there is this misunderstanding, so I took off your image. Have a great weekend!
