FEATURED IN COSMOPOLITAN FRANCE MAGAZINE! TOQUE DE TOKYO DOCUMENTARY AIRS NOV 15. CUTE, SEXY JAPANESE GIRLS HALLOWEEN COSTUMES.
Quel plaisir! I’m featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine France, in an article about my upcoming Canal Plus France documentary (Toqué de Tokyo). I co-star in the 90 minute TV special with Antoine de Caunes of Eurotrash (remember these photos of us on the Odaiba boat?) He explores Japan’s wildest subcultures with the help of his eccentric guides — which include Yukiro, Naomi, Comte de Sang and the Tokyo Decadance crew!
The Japanese documentary airs November 15th at 8:50pm (France time) on Canal Plus. French readers, I hope you’ll be able to tune in. After it airs, I’ll post insane behind-the-scenes photos and stories on this blog.
This is Halloween, this is Halloween! As soon as we landed in Tokyo (to host/arrange a Norway TV show), my First Mate Naomi and I ran to Don Quixote to gawk at costumes. (Naomi’s top is by Putumayo.)
Japanese costumes are much cuter than Western equivalents. The gyaru and Lolita influences are obvious.
I’ve never seen better packaged witch costumes; check out the trailing glittery sleeves and tiny pointed hat. (It’s similar to the one I wore in my Malice Mizer Kozi outfit.)
Yukiro’s apparently influencing the market: many of the costumes are in his trademark purple and black. I didn’t know Living Dead Dolls made creepy girl outfits.
Perhaps this is an “I’m a mouse” excuse to dress sexy on Halloween?
Halloween costumes are never of the same quality as Lolita/Goth brand items. However, the design and make are better than what I’ve seen in Western stores such as Ricky’s.
In Japan, even the evil characters look cute…
… and do Asian poses!
One of the characters in Horror High School wears this giant skull head.
Out of the costumes in this post, which one is your favorite? Do you buy costumes or make your own?
Bonus photo: we went nuts for the 252 yen sparkle nail polish in the basement of Don Quixote. Which ones do you think we bought?

I'll have a thanksgiving nail polish exchange with one of my friend. There's always a color short in a girl's nail polish collection.lol
Ah, I already have a lovely Orange polish from Daiso… I got a sparkly cherry red one, and a dark blue glitter polish that Mana sama would love <3
félicitations!
Parabens!
The japanese costumes look so cute. I wish we would see girls dress like that on halloween over here in the states.
And congradulations on another pirate raid!(a.k.a scoring a gig ^^)
I wish i had a career like that O,_O
I can only wish for the Dutch to celebrate halloween T_T Nobody dresses up here <_< I went to a cyberparty saturday, so my outfit was a t-shirt, shortened by safety pins and goggles on. and I wore selfmade armwarmers with straps and studs on it.
I’m in total cyber dance mood! All the songs of the day are going to be cybergoth for the next while haha.
Sounds like a cute outfit!
There are more Dutch Pepsi videos on the way, and behind the scenes photos… :)
Sexy La Carmina ;D
♥ wonderful!!!!~ CONGRATS!
WOW What a DIFFERENCE! I MEAN…A PRETTY BIG ONE REALLY.
“Japanese costumes are much cuter than Western equivalents. The gyaru and Lolita influences are obvious. ”
Oh yes they are, and yes it is.
Let’s see my favorite is …the 1st one…no the 3rd one…the 6th one…or maybe the 4th one. Eeeeeeeek I really really like every one of them – now that’s SCARY. O_O
No in real honesty though haha…I’d have to say that the 2nd one (With Lady Candy). But I like the other ones so much. 6, 7, 8, and 10. 7 & 8 truly are very umm…very ahem…fantabulous. 6…who wouldn’t love a living dead doll. Wait…wait a minute how does that make any sense? How can something be liv- aw who cares – it’s SO CUTE! And 10 – little red riding hood, now in that kind of outfit, who wouldn’t be a wolf and try and meet the girl up close? And of course…ARISU!!! ALICE!!! Never can forget about her!
Do I make my costumes…well I would…if I actually went out these days anymore. But no as a student, it just doesn’t really happen. But who knows maybe one day if I actually have a family of my own (kind of doubt it haha) – I’ll make Lolita dresses for my daughter (if I have one)…if I have a son…eh…he can go as me LOL!
。。。きおつけて!
Ahhh I wanted to have all the costumes too, haha. They’re much better than any I’ve seen in Western stores…
Outstanding!
Wow, they really are a lot different then western costumes… That makes me SAD for my country! Most of ours are sexually designed, but the Japanese ones are pretty cute. Personally, I wouldn’t wear any of the ones on that picture, but the Alice costume is really adorable! And the living dead girl~~ Aoi, from the GazettE, posted on his FanClub blog with their bassist wearing that giant skull, I’ve never seen anything like it before.
I was lucky, because my manager lets us wear costumes at work the day before and the day of Halloween. I was dressed up as a ‘broken’ doll with some lolita influences, using my own clothes and just different make up. I didn’t need to buy a costume.
Halloween night, I didn’t go out or anything. I worked that day and rushed home so I could give out candy to Trick-or-Treaters, then watch the premiere of the new show The Walking Dead. But, the night before Halloween, as tradition, my friends and I went to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show at midnight.
The giant skull head is so visual — I love it.
I used to watch RHPS with friends all the time too! <3
I won’t miss that!!! A bientôt sur canal plus ! ^^
Yay o/ I also hope that someone will be able to record it, because canal + is a private channel and since you have to pay to be able to watch majors programs, there won’t be many people to look after this. Anyway, it looks like you had fun with Antoine and your whole crew, so we’d like to see it :)
funny costumes btw :3
