GOTH COOKING SHOW GIVEAWAY WEEK! WIN AROMALEIGH MAKEUP AND GLOOMTH GOTHIC LOLITA CLOTHING.

Goth cooking show, Japanese crazy TV show. La Carmina Gothic Lolita videos, YouTube channel with food and recipe demos.

What better way to cure the Monday blues… than with a new VIDEO feature and grand Gothic prize giveaway? ^__^

One of the most frequent requests I receive is to put up more videos on my YouTube channel. Fabulous news – I got a proper digital camcorder, and I’m launching a Goth Cooking Show… inspired by Death Note! Introducing DEATH COOKBOOK, a dark and absurd twist on the Food Network. In each episode, Kojin (the kawaii meets kowai Japanese kitchen god) guides me through a devilishly delicious recipe. Of course, Basil Farrow co-stars and steals the show.

I’ve posted the first episode – a Black Sesame Ice Cream recipe demo – on my YouTube channel (please subscribe!). The complete recipe and song info are in the More Info section. Hope it makes you laugh!

To celebrate La Carmina’s foray into video, I’m presenting my biggest giveaway yet. I’ve teamed up with two of my favorite Goth indie companies – Aromaleigh makeup and Gloomth handmade apparel – to give away 12 prizes. That’s hundreds of dollars worth of freebies!

† WIN ONE OF 12 PRIZES…
From Gloomth:
– 1 first prize: a $75 gift certificate.
– 2 second prizes: $25 gift certificates. These can be used on gloomth.com; valid once, one per person, and not applicable to shipping.
From Aromaleigh:
– 1 first prize: a complete set of the Gothic Lolita Eyeshadows.
– 3 second prizes: each winner receives a Lolita Sweetheart gift set.
– 5 third prizes: each winner picks 3 Gothic Lolita eyeshadows.

† HOW TO WIN
Each person can enter up to three times. You receive…
– 1 entry if you embed my new video in a blog post or forum, or link to it via Facebook, Twitter, Stumble or any other social network.
1 point if you promote the contest in a blog post or forum, or link to it via Facebook, Twitter, Stumble or any other social network. (You can promote it at the same time as the video.)
– 1 point if you comment here and tell me your favorite Gloomth/Aromaleigh product and why.

† TO ENTER
Simply comment here with a link to where you spread the word. If your comment doesn’t show up, don’t worry – I will check my Spam regularly and approve your entries.

YouTube comments are welcome too. I hope you like the video – I had so much fun making it!

Song of the Day #73: Malice Mizer – Illuminati and Rurouni Kenshin (the soundtracks of my video)

††PS – I may be having problems with my commenting system. If so, email me at gothiccarmina[at]gmail[dotcom] or comment on my Myspace – sorry about the temporary inconvenience!

† † † † † † †
Contest ends midnight Pacific Time on Sunday, Mar 29, 2009. Maximum three (3) entries per person. To enter, follow the instructions above. You must include a valid email address (it will not be visible). Winners will be chosen with a random number generator; the order of entry determines your number. Winners will be contacted via email. The prize will be shipped by the manufacturer to the winner’s address; La Carmina is not responsible for lost or undelivered prizes. Contact Carmina if you have questions about the contest.

Oh my god your hair is on fire…

http://www.gloomth.com/r15.html <- Gloomth's Vrai Noir Overcoat is quite possibly my favourite thing ever: fitted in all the right places but loose enough to wear a vest, blouse and cardigan under; light enough for spring but heavy enough for winter; finishes your most formal, most elegant aristocrat coordinate perfectly, or adds a little dazzle to your pseudo-punk homely tramp jeans; it can be the centre-piece of your outfit or blend as a neat complement; sturdy as hell but refined as fuck; flattering on both a big girl or a skinny malink; not too costume-y, whilst managing to sate the urge for OMG MOAR RACE.

    I likes it.

The “Coffin Coat” not only has an awesome name, but it's a structured jacket I know would fit my body type. It doesn't have extreme detail, but just enough to be classy. It's one of the items that can be used as a separate or be the finishing touch to an outfit.

All the Gloomth products are amazing, but my favourite is the 'Crimson' Vistorian Cape. The first thing that comes to my mind is Little Red Riding Hood.
    Kawaii neeeee!!!
And crimson of course is one of the most gothic colours in nature!!!

My favourite Gloomth product would be the Anther Dress – the print and style is just lovely. I really like the Empire style waist, and that it has a built in petti. With it's gothic but charming look it would perfectly fit in my closet, maybe even if I don't win, I'd purchase one either way! :D

I don't usually put on make-up but Aromaleigh's Gothic Loltia Eye Collection caught me – especially the violet ruffle, strawberry despair and plush romantic colours. :3

There are a bunch of fun things I love on Gloomth — currently I've had my eye on the Amaryllis ruffled skirt, because, well…I'm a sucker for petticoats, but who isn't? It's something I'd like to wear with the vrai noir autumn coat. It doesn't look like it's very warm, though…oh well!

I'm excited – both for more videos, and for the sweepstakes.

I don't know how to link to specific updates on Twitter, but I posted a link to your video AND a link to this post on mine, which is here: http://twitter.com/mach6

If you need links to the specific posts, just let me know how to do that, and I will. =)

And I love Aromaleigh so much that I could go on and on about my favourite products even if there was no giveaway! Seriously. I love AL eyeshadows more than anything, and it's difficult to pick a favourite line, but if I really had to, I'd say I love the Pure Hues and Elemental Lustre collections the most. Pure Hues is a fantastic line of shadows, because it includes everything from bright colours like Caribe and Bluebird, to neutrals like Fox. The texture is great, and they're all really easy to blend (especially since Aromaleigh offers empty eyeshadow jars and scoops!) so you can customize your shades.

I love Elemental Lustres because they're – by far – THE MOST unique range of shadows I've ever seen. I pretty much didn't believe an eyeshadow could be truly metallic, until I tried these. “Mutiny” is my favourite shade, because it makes my hazel eyes look particularly green and gold, but “Abyss” comes in a close second. They're beautiful dry, but when you combine Elemental Lustres with water or a shadow sealant – WOW. They're so shiny it's easy to imagine you could see your reflection in them. Great, great shadows.

I love Aromaleigh's eyeshadows. there are so many colors to choose from, its hard to choose favorites. I'd say my favorite color right now is Agate Pure Hue. It is such an interesting irredesent green color that I can use with alot of other colors. And i really like twilight powder in dazzle. It has alot of sparkles in it that goes great over eyeshadows or over your face to give you alot of sparkles.

Not exactly sure how to post the exact post on my facebook, but you might be able to sort through it on my profile: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#/prof

Also, I LOVE the show. It gives it an anime twist, and it's very informative. For me, it almost seemed a bit faster than you'd see on a normal cooking show, but the written instructions on the side as well as you speaking them help out greatly! I think I'm going to try this eventually xD

Favorite Gloomth Item: “Vrai Noir” Corset Overcoat with Bell Sleeves & Lace Accents – if I wasn't extremely poor at this point in my life (I only get about $6.55/hr working at JoAnns @_@), I would probably pick this top. 1.) Belled sleeves are my absolute favorite kind, or anything that is renaissance-esque. The long sleeves just seem to entrance me. Also, looking at the model, the dress/coat/shirt/etc seems to look very elegant, so it isn't exactly too out there and could be worn for special occasions, or even casual. (Even though I'm 18, mom still wont let me run around in Lolita; thank you city for not seeming to like 'outrageous' styles. She thinks it would be bad to wear it out in public =/)

Aromaleigh: It took awhile of looking, but I would probably say in the Gothic Lolita Collection (http://www.aromaleigh.com/negoloeyeco.html) I like the colors Elegant Reverie, Morbid Curiosity or, Verdant Wisp. I like deeper colors because for some reason, bright “OMG LOOK AT MEEEE” colors just freak me out ): At least, on my person. On other people it looks good, but it just doesn't seem to fit for me. Haha. I'm not much of a make-up person, but I do dabble with eyeshadow.

the school girl top.. I’m excited – both for more videos, and for the sweepstakes.

I don’t know how to link to specific updates on Twitter, but I posted a link to your video AND a link to this post on mine, which is here: http://twitter.com/mach6

If you need links to the specific posts, just let me know how to do that, and I will. =)

And I love Aromaleigh so much that I could go on and on about my favourite products even if there was no giveaway! Seriously. I love AL eyeshadows more than anything, and it’s difficult to pick a favourite line, but if I really had to, I’d say I love the Pure Hues and Elemental Lustre collections the most. Pure Hues is a fantastic line of shadows, because it includes everything from bright colours like Caribe and Bluebird, to neutrals like Fox. The texture is great, and they’re all really easy to blend (especially since Aromaleigh offers empty eyeshadow jars and scoops!) so you can customize your shades.

I love Elemental Lustres because they’re – by far – THE MOST unique range of shadows I’ve ever seen. I pretty much didn’t believe an eyeshadow could be truly metallic, until I tried these. “Mutiny” is my favourite shade, because it makes my hazel eyes look particularly green and gold, but “Abyss” comes in a close second. They’re beautiful dry, but when you combine Elemental Lustres with water or a shadow sealant – WOW. They’re so shiny it’s easy to imagine you could see your reflection in them. Great, great shadows.

I love Aromaleigh’s eyeshadows. there are so many colors to choose from, its hard to choose favorites. I’d say my favorite color right now is Agate Pure Hue. It is such an interesting irredesent green color that I can use with alot of other colors. And i really like twilight powder in dazzle. It has alot of sparkles in it that goes great over eyeshadows or over your face to give you alot of sparkles.

Not exactly sure how to post the exact post on my facebook, but you might be able to sort through it on my profile: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#/profile.php?id=727324749&ref=profile

Also, I LOVE the show. It gives it an anime twist, and it’s very informative. For me, it almost seemed a bit faster than you’d see on a normal cooking show, but the written instructions on the side as well as you speaking them help out greatly! I think I’m going to try this eventually xD

Favorite Gloomth Item: “Vrai Noir” Corset Overcoat with Bell Sleeves & Lace Accents – if I wasn’t extremely poor at this point in my life (I only get about $6.55/hr working at JoAnns @_@), I would probably pick this top. 1.) Belled sleeves are my absolute favorite kind, or anything that is renaissance-esque. The long sleeves just seem to entrance me. Also, looking at the model, the dress/coat/shirt/etc seems to look very elegant, so it isn’t exactly too out there and could be worn for special occasions, or even casual. (Even though I’m 18, mom still wont let me run around in Lolita; thank you city for not seeming to like ‘outrageous’ styles.

On other people it looks good, but it just doesn’t seem to fit for me. Haha. I’m not much of a make-up person, but I do dabble with eyeshadow.

Anyway, my favorite gloomth article of clothing is the Amaryllis skirt. I love that kind of fabric, and I love frilly black skirts. It's similar to something I want to make myself.
And, I love pretty much all of aromaleigh's makeup. But, my favorite is their Botanical Lipstick in “crush” because it's the perfect red for me. It's not too bright, and it looks so nice. Plus, all their lipsticks are so mosturizing, I never have a problem with chapped lips anymore after buying some. Their matte eyeshadow in umber is also awsome. It makes the perfect dark brown eyeshadow.

My favourite Gloomth product is the “Vrai Noir” Autumn Overcoat. I love the silhouette – ribbon corsets always get me. And the way that the back forms a sort of skirt shape is eyecatching and just Lolita enough. The option of bows or chains is a nice opportunity to adjust it to one's style. I'd pick the chain back, personally. Ohhh, it's just so pretty, period. I'd wear it everyday if I could ^^

I fell in love with it at first sight! its simply gorgeous, I love the gothic lolita and aristocratic element to it, even though its a solid black color the metallic accents make it pop and give it that edge that I like so much it reminds me alot of a design from alice and the pirates, with out the crazy price tag which I adore. It also seems really functional. I live in a really cold region so I would need a fairly warm coat and it looks like it'd warm.

My favorite Gloomth/Aromaleigh product is the “Amaryllis” skirt. I love how bouncy and full it is since it has the built in petti. I think that the ruffles are just the right size and the white eyelet trim is the perfect detail to help give contrast and detail to the skirt.

I think Aromaleigh’s Ultra Resolution Finishing Powder is genius because it’s tinted and provides the tiniest bit of flattering glow. It’s such an improvement over other untinted silica finishing powders on the market!

I’ve been reading your blog for a while now and this video just pushed me to comment, I have to say the funniest thing i’ve ever seen and educational at the same time since I utterly fail at cooking I found it quite helpful and loved the death not reference. I hope to see more soon .

I posted the video and contest promo on my live journal : http://kazenotama.livejournal.com/

my favorite piece of clothing would have to be the vrai noir overcoat. http://www.gloomth.com/r15.html
I live in a really cold region so I would need a fairly warm coat and it looks like it’d warm.

Ahh that makes me happy! I’ve been tooling around with some conventional cooking show formats (for traditional media outlets), and it just wasn’t me. So I decided, what the heck – I’ll make my own thing and see how it goes. :)

Aromaleigh…well deciding on one favorite is really tough, so I guess I'll tell you one product I absolutely cannot live without!

The Silk Powder primer is without a doubt a must have product. Year round, I have an obnoxiously oily T-Zone and the summer time is brutal just trying to keep my makeup on my face and set.. The Silk Powder, (which, by the way, is on sale for a great deal until 3/25/09), it not only absorbs UV rays to protect my skin, but most importantly to me, it makes my crazy huge pores look almost invisible.

I came across Aromaleigh while looking for a less expensive & equal or higher quality alternative to a name brand I won't mention here. I have been a customer for at least 5 years now and the service is fast, the product is super quality, and what I enjoy the most is the the range of colors offered, from basic to gothic and everything in between, and with use, realizing that they actually were very chic looking when I needed them to be downplayed for conservative corporate environments, and then I can play them up all the way to theatrical. The ability to purchase samples is wonderful so I don't waste money on colors that just don't work for me and often, I am surprised to find colors I never expected to work, look gorgeous on me.

I'll post again about a few other products that one must try, but I'll close by stating that, in the interest of full disclosure, I have no financial interest in Aromaleigh, I do not know the staff personally, it's simply that I am a very happy long-term customer.

Ok, I promised a review of other Aromaleigh products. A few months ago I decided to once again trust the thorough color descriptions and buy the three rouges in the Gothic Lolita collection ( http://www.aromaleigh.com/yodopuroinc.html ).

The Rococo rouge is described as a “gorgeous neutral shade that will give your cheeks a naturally flushed appearance akin to that famed “O”… Just gorgeous on everyone!~~” (quoted directly from http://www.Aromaleigh.com). While reading reviews when deciding whether to purchase them, I recall that one person commented something to the effect that when she wears Rococo, it appears that she has just come from having a “rendezvous” with her husband. That convinced me; I added minijars of each to try to my already huge order and eagerly awaited its arrival.

Aromaleigh's Gothic Lolita Rococo rouge is all that it claims to be and more. It is my second “can't live without it” Aromaleigh product. You must try it!

I'm a long time lurker and first time poster. I actually stumbled across your website from Jimmi's website (of which I am also a lurker) and I stumbled acorss his from Jrocknyc (the connections of blogsphere is mind-boggling)!

I embedded your video on my facebook (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/home…) If that doesn't work my name is Katrina Qin (Melbourne -just in case there are others with my name). I also promoted the competition in the same message.

Now about my fave aromaleigh product! I was introduced to aromaleigh by your blog! A few months ago when you wore the eye shadows, I was using Bare Essentials at the time but it smelt funny and I was looking for better alternatives. Great recommendation! I am still rather new to it but my fave so far has to be the silk powder. It makes diminishes my pores and gives an even tone to my complexion, on a day when I wake up with perfect skin (once in a blue moon but it does happen!) I just use that and it makes my skin look better!

Anyway thank you for the product recs and for this comp!

Dx choosing my favorite item was WAAAYYY too hard! I love Gloomth. I've been stalking the site for months =P just never really had the money to buy something… haha now I feel like I'm giving you guys a sob story ._. ok forget I said that… Dx
hmm.. so I was able to narrow it down to my top 4… =P and I can't get it to be any lower…

I love Amaryllis Tiered Skirt because it's so pretty! =D I love all the layers and it has a petticoat that makes it poofy and awesome! I also love the Anther Dress because the shape is so simple (no crazy sleeves or stuff) and it also has a petticoat. hmm another item I really like is the Dire Corset Over-Skirt because it makes outfits look 100x cooler. Lastly, I love the Violet Noir Overcoat because it's so… awesome =P It looks really cool over dresses and prob over pants too.

Did I write too much? Dx

Its incredibly hard to pick a favorite but, I absolutely love, love, love, the Damask Dress with Built In Petticoat & Matching Accessories, from Gloomth! It is perfect for spring picnics with the ladies!
I also have a soft spot for the Lolita sweet heart kit from Aromaleigh. It has luxurious eye colors and It makes the perfect gift to show your lady friends you think of them. (I bought one for both of my best friends.)
