OSAKA POKEMON CENTER, JAPAN: RARE PIKACHU TOYS, VIDEO GAMES & COLLECTIBLE MERCHANDISE, ポケモンセンターオーサカ
What’s one of the most popular attractions in Osaka? Not the castle, not the aquarium… but the Pokemon Center in Umeda.
The shop is not far from Umeda Station, and the yellow signs make it easy to find. The Pokemon franchise is both evil and genius. The motto, “Gotta catch ’em all,” means…
… that fans must keep opening their pockets for Pocket Monster merchandise.
There are several Pokemon Centers in Japan, and they’re always packed with visitors.
In addition to selling every type of merchandise (toys, home goods, cards, games), the centers have special events for children.
We saw groups of young people sitting on the steps outside, engrossed in their individual video games.
Can you recognize the little plush guy that Yukiro took home?
You can see more Japanese toy shops and Osaka photos in my shopping resource.
Are you a Pokemon fanatic? Who is your favorite character from the series?
PS: is anyone going to the Los Angeles anime convention, PMX this weekend? Look out for First Mate Naomi… she’ll be walking around and giving out La Carmina & The Pirates business cards!
Japanese Word of the Day: Tegaru = Handy, simple
Song of the Day: 13th Moon – Grave Dance

I must say I’m a very huge fan of the Pokémon games, I’m kinda… Catching them all, right now… I’ve been working on this for two years, now… And I’m not up to 466 monsters out of 493 (´ . ` ;)
I’ll have some more to catch since the fifth generation came out in Japan not a long time ago… I guess that next year it will reach the hands of american and european fans~
But I’m not too fond of the anime… I’m not fond of animes, period… xD;
But I like Team Rocket !
Hahah which game are you playing? My friend was obsessed with Pokemon Snap. So funny… :)

Fffffuuuu!! D; Pichuu sajdhsalkjhdsa do want.
Ah all those childhood memories of Pokemon…of course many will claim that “forcing” my parents to buy all those Pokemon cards when I was a kid was a big waste of money. And yes it is true considering I didn’t play a “game” of Pokemon I didn’t know how to…and I still don’t know how to.
BUT I loved getting up every Saturday morning to watch the cartoons – I absolutely loved those times. It was incredibly fun! I even remember watching the first movie of Pokemon – oh boy were there tears coming out haha.
Unfortunately the writer passed away not too long ago. As far as games though – I really haven’t played any Pokemon games. When I had an N64 I used to play Pokemon Snap and THAT WAS FUN!!!!
Of course another game that I enjoyed playing was Pokemon Silver – but I didn’t get to play that unless I was on the plane, because they had some sort of emulator for gameboy color.
But that’s about it…as for the pokemon Yukiro took home – I DON’T KNOW. I really only know the first generation of Pokemon. However…the pokemon really reminds me of Chansey.
Aww Pokemon memories! I remember the Poke-cards. They were banned from some schools because the students got too obsessed.
Zapdos FTW.
Pokemon is one addictive virus… O_O
WHAT ABOUT YU-GI-OH!?!!? D:
Team Rocket RULE! :D
I loved Pokemon when I was young. Untill Digimon was broadcast too. I switched to a Digimon fanatic xD. It is sooo much better then Pokemon. Though, at school everybody thought Digimon was fake Pokemon. So I wasn’t cool anymore. But later I found out they WERE watching Digimon secretly.
Digital Monsters rule Pocket Monsters!!!
Hahah I never got into Digimon..
