I’m so happy to be reunited with my Scottish Fold cat, Basil Farrow! I’ve been traveling like crazy, as you can see on my La Carmina blog.

Basil’s doing wonderfully: he’s healthy, wise, cute and soft. It’s been a while since I posted a video of him, so here’s something to fill the void. Come see my fat cat in action below and on YouTube.

Uncanny: I found this Scottish Fold stuffed toy in Hong Kong’s Sogo department store (Causeway Bay). The plushie looks exactly like Basil Farrow: cream fur, pink paws, tiger tail and the M on his forehead. I seriously think a designer saw my cat’s photo and turned him into a toy.

I’m often asked – where can you buy a cute purebred Scottish Fold cat like Basil Farrow?

Alas, the cattery in Connecticut where Mia Farrow got him no longer breeds foldy-ears.

I suggest the Scottish Fold Rescue, which lists cats for adoption all over America.

There are quite a few Greek and Russian breeders, who are active on Facebook.

All in all, it’s difficult but not impossible to find a Scottish Fold breeder near you. Do some research and ask around — be prepared to wait and pay big.

But isn’t it worth it to have a fuzz-face like me?

Have you cleaned your Scottish Fold cat’s ears today?

Their folded ears collect dirt easily, so it’s a good idea to wash them gently with a damp cloth. Don’t forget to dry between the folds.
