Cute videos of Scottish Fold cat purring, meowing, playing with kitten toys.
Looks like Basil has been cloned! How did I end up with two fuzzy-faces? Read on to find out.
We received a large package from artist Bitsy Knox. Basil Farrow couldn’t wait to look inside.
He seems to be saying, “Hurry up and open it!”
Fragile… what could it be?
Basil gives it a smell test. Doesn’t seem like there is anything yummy inside.
Maybe sitting on it will provide some clues?
Look at how the cardboard sinks under his weight!
Time to use his big paws to try to open the cardboard.
Inside, there’s a giant canvas enveloped by bubble wrap. My Scottish Fold immediately climbs on it.
He likes the texture of bubble wrapping, for some reason.
(Check out the sideways paws!)
Could this be a comfortable new cushion? Not quite…
I opened it up, while this curious cat kept watch. His triple-folded ears are so cute.
“Wahhh! It’s a portrait of me!”
Isn’t the resemblance uncanny? Basil’s round face, plush fur and short tail are perfectly rendered
Huge thanks to Bitsy Knox, a Canadian artist living and working in Berlin, for this adorable painting.

The photos speak for themselves… she’s so talented!
Love the blue contrast background, and the cut-out shape of the canvas.

Want to see my Scottish Fold cat in action? Here’s a new video of Basil exercising by jumping hurdles and going through tunnels. Isn’t he athletic?
Watch it above. With some creativity, you can make Scottish Folds do a workout!
Looks like I now have two cute cats… Wouldn’t you like a customized pet painting too? You can find out more and see other examples of Bitsy Knox’s work here.
What’s Basil Farrow up to lately? Since it’s summer and he’s so furry, he spends a lot of time lying on his back, belly-up — in typical Scottish Fold fashion.
He also got a present from Asia: a Japanese robot Scottish Fold toy, which looks just like him! Watch his reaction in this new Scottish Fold cat video.
Isn’t it funny how this toy Scottish Fold moves and barks?
The toy originally had a pink nose, but we painted it brown to look more like Basil.
Like real folds, this robo-kitty has a short stiff tail, sideways feet and a round body…
… and of course, the signature folded ears.
It’s true, both robots and Scottish Folds are big in Japan!
Seems like Basil Farrow is bored of the doppleganger-clone already…
Basil Farrow is a smart kitty, you can tell from his sharp yellow eyes!
He always is alert and makes funny expressions. Looking a little annoyed here…
It’s always adorable when he looks up, with his round earless head.
He loves to watch his father’s TV show, Ronan Farrow Daily (every weekday, 10am PT / 1pm ET, on MSNBC). Basil Farrow seems to be rolling on the floor laughing at Ronan’s Bengazi pun.
Someone is watching you… Often, I’ll turn to see this round face peeking at me.
Big sideways paws are great for dangling.
Doesn’t Basil look like a teddy bear or owl?
He has the tiniest folded ears, which he can move and flip back.
His ears need to be cleaned, since they are so small and tightly folded.
And while he is a “shorthair fur” Scottish Fold / British Shorthair, he has so much fluff that he needs to be Furminated regularly.
Look at the thick folds of fur, which look like cracks or slices of bread.
That’s a bear for sure.
Scottish Folds are so cute from the side view: short snout, no nose. Similar to Persians, but less pushed in.
Yawn, time for bed!
