Fortunately, my mommy doesn’t put a pumpkin hat on top of my head.

At this Tokyo, Japan cat cafe, customers pay for the privilege of petting and playing with kitty cats. It pays to have folded ears!

The Japanese are gaga over Scottish Folds, as they should be… we’re the cutest breed around.

So if you’re in Japan, come to a cat cafe. Order a chocolate milkshake and pet my feline friends…

There are two types of kitties that like to lie on their backs all day.

Foldy-eared Scottish Folds…

…and the blue earless Japanese cat character, Doraemon!

Wahh I’ve met so many new fold-eared friends through Facebook! (Let’s be friends: add me, “Basil Farrow” on Facebook.) Goat, a grey and white Scottish Fold, and his mommy Lizz sent me a hello…

Lizz writes: “Goat was born on 8/23/03 in our bedroom. His mom was in a tent at the side of our bed and I told my husband if he heard Crumpette rustling she was probably going into labor. Mike heard rustling and let her OUT of the tent. She had Goat and proceeded to drag him all around the bedroom via umbilical cord. ::sigh:: We had beige carpeting….”

“At the time I was breeding and showing Folds. His dad Lumpy is a CFA Grand Champion, his brother Tig’Ear is a CFA Grand Premier, and Goat used to accompany them to cat shows. People all over the South East were introduced to Folds via Goat. Kids could pet him, people in wheelchairs cuddled him, he was an unofficial CFA Ambassador cat. People would come to the shows and ask if Goat was there. He got his name when, as a kitten, he was scouring out a dog food can and got it stuck on his wee head. The dog food can looked right, the dog food can looked left… my husband said, “The cat is eating a can. The cat is a Goat.” The name stuck. He is very much loved, very much spoiled and altogether lovable!”

“As you will see, his specialty is the Buddha sit.”

“He, Tig’Ear and Crumpette will be featured on part of a PBS show called Animal Attractions sometime this year. Not sure when it will air. They were doing a piece on the breed. It’s episode 9 of season 3 in case you see it listed. I’m in there too, but I’m not nearly as cute! — Lizz and Goat (MEEP!)”

I often fall asleep on the staircase…

Everyone has to step carefully over me because I take up all the room.

And when I wake up – boy, am I ever grumpy. What do you think of my morning face?

Mommy? Will you take me with you to Japan this time?

I look plump but I know I can squeeze into your carry-on luggage. I promise not to “wahh” during the trip.

And you can even use me as a pillow! What do you say – can I come with?

Ai-yah! I see and hear bird-birds outside!

Mommy, can you please let me go outside? Pretty please? I promise to behave.

What do you mean it’s too dangerous? Don’t I look like a tough kitty?

Mmm… on second thought… I guess there are benefits to being a sweet indoor Scottish Fold!

Ah-maooo! The lovely vintage/indie fashion blog All Chic posted a photo of me in my dapper top hat! Kisses!

Reader Rolanda submitted a photo of his orange Scottish Fold cat Prince Bowie, naned after the musical geniuses Prince and David Bowie. I thought my kitty wsa a fluffball, but Prince Bowie could mop a ballroom with his tail!

Ai-yah! There was a Scottish Fold kitten at the Japanese cat cafe that looks a little bit like me!

But his ears are bigger and stick out… his nose is pink instead of brown… and he has tiger striped orange fur while I’m cream-colored.

Mommy missed me while she was in Tokyo, so she went to this popular Shinjuku cat cafe to get her Scottish Fold playtime fix. Remember this video of us playing together?

This six month old Scottish Fold kitten, a girl named Momiju, ran around chasing the ball.

But she isn’t nearly as plump as me… or as cute, don’t you think?
